Reviews for Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows
Caring Staff, Some Growing Pains
Auburn Meadows earns strong praise from families for its caring, attentive staff and clean facility, with many reviewers highlighting exceptional communication and personalized attention. The memory care unit receives particular commendation from those with positive experiences. However, concerns emerge around inconsistent care for complex behavioral cases, understaffing leading to high CNA turnover, occasional communication gaps with families, and food quality complaints from some residents. Several older reviews mention the building feeling dated, though recent renovations appear to have addressed this. For Medicaid-accepting facilities, reviewers consistently rate it among the area's best options.
As a local area firefighter and fire officer for over 30 years, I have responded to many of the assisted living, rehabilitation, memory care and nursing care facilities all over South King County. During those visits to these types of facilities, I had a first hand view of both patient care, life style, cleanliness and staff responses to emergency situations. Given those experiences, I am truly qualified to compare the Prestige at Auburn Meadows to all of them. Auburn Meadows above all, has the
I've been fortunate to work with Prestige Auburn Meadows over the past year, and they are exceptional all around. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and it's clear they truly care about their residents. They place strong emphasis on residents’ health and well-being while also offering fun activities and events that keep everyone engaged and enjoying themselves. I would highly reccomend this community to anyone looking for an Assisted Living Facility!
As a community partner, I’m in this community often, it’s lively, vibrant, and supported by a fantastic team! I highly recommend touring Auburn Meadows, you won't be disappointed!
We transferred mom to memory care (Expressions) from her temporary facility it was a rough transfer. We had some ups and downs for sure. But, Sandy, Chantel and Anna and all the staff have made it much easier and calm. Mom is setting in and loves Joe. We have seen more smiles here than when she was home. So this was the right place for her even with the issues we had in the beginning.
The staff is excellent, the activities are plentiful and the is food excellent. The apartments are Different sizes, one would have to see them. I would recommend it to others who are currently searching for a place.
Complex patients with behavioral, memory and history of substance abuse problems may not fare so well there, especially if energetic. Our placement there was unfortunately not long lived and was transferred out to Auburn Hospital and did not return. But as I said, he was complex with dementia.
My sister will move into Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. I thought it was a welcoming, affirming community. I was introduced to many of the employees, and they were all very friendly. One of the residents had lunch with us, and that was very nice and she was helpful. I just felt very welcome. The food was good. They have something going on every single day of the month on their calendar, and they do trips, too. They go to the racehorse track. They go to a different grocery store every wee
I'm gonna give this place a 5 on everything. I so appreciate this facility. Its very clean and the staff are fantastic. I would very much recommend this facility to everyone. Thanks!
The location is close to at least 2 family members. Medical staff and dining staff seem especially helpful and communicate with dad really well.
My dad will move into Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. The people were very nice. The facility was nice, and mostly they have a spend down to Medicaid. The staff was nice and seemed knowledgeable. They include three meals a day. They had two outdoor areas that had chairs and covered areas.
I think it's a decent place, but my parent's biggest gripe is the food isn't very good. My dad is easy going, but my step mom can be a little difficult and has had problems with some of the caregivers and staff administrators. I'm just glad they're in a safe place. Well, I know there are better facilities but they are on Medicaid, so they can't complain too much. I'd say for a facility that takes Medicaid, it's the best in the area.
The staff #1. So kind, great with mum, communication with us is great, very caring. We are so happy with Auburn Meadows
Resident was not accepted back to the facility after behavior became impaired and unmanageable due to alcohol (occurring twice). I was inadequately updated by Auburn Meadows after he ended up in ER at Auburn Hospital other than being told that an assessment for memory care would occur at 11:00 am Thursday over a week ago. That assessment did not happen. I never heard from Auburn Meadows again. Eventually the hospital informed me that he would not be accepted back to Auburn Meadows and that an as
I toured Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. Everyone was very friendly. They asked me good questions. It was close to my home which is a plus. They did show me two different rooms. They looked nice and adequate, and they had a nice dining room. The rooms that I saw were furnished. They have a fridge, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
I think the nurses. [name removed] and [name removed] were helpful in getting my mother in law on with in house nurse practitioners. She can get her appointments and check ups without out going anywhere. My mother in law is not social and she has been that way most of her life. So I can't speak of the community aspect. We are happy that she just goes to the dinning room every meal to eat. Just that small interaction is a win for her.
The staff was really really good. My dad's caregivers were very kind to him and very helpful. They weren't real successful at getting him to join into activities or even the dining room sometimes. But that was way less their fault and more his. They checked on him often, they helped him with all the things he needed help with. We told them that he was a coffee guy and so they would make him coffee. They joked with him, turned the TV on for him. This is the second person of my family to stay at
There is high turnover with the CNAs, but that seems common at all of these facilities. The staff is friendly and responsive. The housekeeping has been pretty good--a little inconsistent sometimes. The communication with the family is okay. They are responsive but do not initiate much communication. I think they are understaffed, so the admin folks are very busy. The move in process was okay. It took a few months for things to fall into a good rhythm and routine, but that was kind of to be expec
After many long months of hospital stays and nursing care we wanted to make sure my Aunt was in a clean, caring, and friendly environment. Prestige is a hidden gem. The leadership team is open to suggestions, listens to concerns and works with you on solutions that best fit your loved one. It is a small team which makes it easy to get to know them and become part of the community. My Aunt has met many friends and they all look after each other. Activities are thoughtfully planned to encourage
I would not, most caregivers I know are great, don't know all, not the cleanest place, there has been a turnover in personal lately, why not sure (management????), They did allow us a 1 year spend down, which I am grateful for, would never made 2 years, and the cost of care increased often.
I found Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows for my ex-husband. They take spend-down Medicaid. They had activities and a dining hall, and they featured snacks in between meals. They had a walking group in the morning. They have a shuttle service for shopping. They have nurses available for part of the day. They have a doctor that visits the facility once or twice a month. They allow cats. Everybody seems to be very nice, welcoming. My ex-husband is happy with how friendly the staff is. They do
It is an above average facility, from my limited exposure to such places. My mom is fairly happy there. Positives: It is a clean, friendly facility with pretty good food. The staff works hard and greets you with a lot of positivity. They seem to genuinely care for their residents, and most of the residents seem happy when you encounter them in the halls and dining area. Negatives: they are woefully understaffed and have a fair amount of turnover it seems. The communication is not timely, an
My mom was at Auburn Meadows from [date removed] –[date removed] (passed). Did not comply with service level agreement and did not communicate regularly about my mom’s well-being (lack of appetite, missed meals).
When your parent first moves in, visit as often as you can so the little things don't get missed. It takes time for a routine to get established by both the staff and your loved one.
I showed up for the tour and the gal who was supposed to show me around was not there. The front desk person ended up showing me around and she did the best that she could do, but she was not able to answer a lot of my questions I had. The disorganization off the bat kind of made me weary of placing a loved one there. I thought if they were disorganized on the tour, what else could they be disorganized on?
Unfortunately, Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows is not for me. The drive is a bit long. They don't have any vacancies at this time. We would be on a year waiting list, and I can't wait that long. I liked it. It was smaller, cozy, and clean. The only thing I didn't appreciate was there was not very much parking. Other than that, it's really a nice place. From what I could see, it was very well put together. The staff was nice and friendly. They directed me in the directio
We are happy with them. There are always little things that can go wrong but he's happy there, and we feel he's safe and cared for. I would tell others to be an advocate, no matter what facility you are at. None are perfect. And therefore you need to be there for your loved one to get over some of those stumbles. In our case it was making sure that the medical recommendations worth accurate and being practiced. It just took a little bit of adjustment to make that work, and then get to know your
My parents love this place! It was really hard to get them to agree to moving into assisted living, but now that they're here they love it. They truly go above and beyond at this facility. My parents feel special and feel like a part of a family. They've redone it the last couple of years and it's very nice and clean. I would absolutely recommend them to friends and family! This place has exceeded our expectations!
So far it's been a good experience, my parents are happy.
For us, being new to senior living, it has been a learning curve. There were a lot of questions we didn't really know to ask and services we didn't know were potentially available. I would tell others to do your research and make sure you're finding out information ahead of time so it 's not such a shock after everything is said and done. But we've had a good experience at Prestige. It's clean. Everybody is very nice, and they are taking good are of my parents. My parents seem to love the
Our family had an in person tour and we did not really care for it. The sales lady was a little to pushy and she kept suggesting higher levels of care for our loved one that we did not agree with. Also the community was undergoing construction which was fine, but in the hallway we saw some free standing furniture like a tall bookcase and we were worried about heavy items not being secured and falling over.
We were not impressed with Prestige Senior Living. The building is very old and they were trying to do some remodels, but it still felt dark and dingy to us. The presentation was not good, it was a depressing environment.
They try to keep the residents safe and happy. I think the staff is helpful. The living spaces are great. My dad has his own bathroom, kitchenette, and living room, so he's very comfortable. He complains that the food is not good, but he says the same thing when we go out to restaurants and other places.
My parents have just moved into Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. They have been there for about a week and a half, and they have to get a re-evaluation to finalize the level of care. It's undergoing renovations right now. It's smaller. The staff seems very caring. It's pretty personalized. My parents have a fairly spacious apartment for themselves, which is nice. They've been happy with the food and the care so far. There's not a lot of activities going on quite ye
This past week they have started to allow us back into the community. The food has been being delivered to the resident's rooms. They are starting to reopen the dining room. It is a good option for both personal and financially reasons. They only have 2 year private pay before Medicaid. I would like to see some updates of the community; however, to my understanding they will be making changes. The windows are hard to get up and down for our window visits.
The meals could use some improvements, they are serving the residents a lot of carbs so they fill up on carbs and don't have room for the healthier foods. They also crash really quickly after. Also, we are not overly impressed with the care services. Both our parents are they, our father is very self sufficient, however our mother has on set dementia but our father is fully capable of caring for her and has been for years, but they are still charging us for level two care even though they are no
We toured Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows for my mother, and it was excellent. It had everything I was looking for, and it was close to my home. They showed me the apartment, the craft room, and the location where her room would be. They also showed me the laundry, and they were very kind people. They showed me everywhere that she will be able to go. She has a TV in her own room, but they also have a community area where she could join in and watch. It is all is very spacious, and it was g
I was at Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows the other day. My friend's wife lives there. She is in hospice there. Because of the virus, I couldn't get in, you'll have a window visit, and that's it. Two days ago, I had to go down because they moved her to a hospice portion of the building. I had to pick up all her furniture and her belongings, and take them out of there so they could have that room, and so I was able to go in. I had to go in, remove all of her stuff, and ta
My mother-in-law has moved into Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. They're fantastic. They make the life of an elderly comfortable. Their accommodation is very comfortable. They cleaned the apartment out including the carpet, and everything was painted. They have staff members who do above and beyond their call of duty. They're absolutely amazing. The only thing that concerns me is there's only one elevator in this 2-story building.
Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows looks quite nice from the outside, and the apartment that my mother got is nice too. The service is good. The dining hall is good and she likes the food there. They have activities, but she hasn't participated in anything yet. It's expensive.
Staff members know residents by name almost immediately. They are always there to help our mother find her way, and suggesting she join activities.
[Name removed] was fantastic. However, the facility feels a little tired and worn down. Only a small patio out back (filled with smokers...) for "outdoor" space. Food was so-so.
We're currently at Auburn Meadows. The grounds are beautiful, and the setting is nice; however, the place is dated and old. The woodwork is pretty banged up and doesn't get fixed up very often. There is not much maintenance going on around here. As far as the food, they have one type of food. They have no way of changing it or giving different types of food. They do not cater to anyone who has diabetes. It is just one institutional menu. They used to have activities, but then they lost
On our visit, everyone was friendly kind. My wife and I looked at the studio room for my mother. Everything was nice except the location.
[Removed]and [Removed]visited this place a couple years ago and [Removed] said she remembers it being a nice place.
Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows was fine, had good staff, good accommodations, and reasonable prices. What I liked about it is that it's clean and well-managed.
My 87-year-old mother lived at Auburn Meadows for only three weeks but those were happy days for her. Unfortunately, she fell and had to move to the nursing home for rehab. The staff was so friendly and helpful. She quickly made friends with the other residents during meals and the large number of activities that were offered. From the marketing director to the receptionist to the RN staff to the caregivers and many other staff, they all made my mother feel like she was at home and loved
What they have done well is that they have made the process fairly simple of getting my loved one in to the facility. There was some confusion about how they assessed him and the level of care he was rated at, so they could improve in that area.
So far things are going well for Mom. This was a very difficult transition for her. Staff at Auburn Meadows are wonderful at helping her adjust. Mom has good days and bad days. Auburn Meadows staff help her through them all. We have been very pleased.
Prestige was fine, clean, and well maintained. It was a little large in terms of what I was looking for, but ultimately. it met a lot of the criteria. My mother seemed to feel comfortable there, and everybody seemed nice.
We went to visit Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows, but my friend was not comfortable with it. It didn’t quite meet his needs, apparently, but I took him there because he lives in Auburn.
The people at Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows are great. The staff has worked really well with dad as his health has gone down hill. They just completely go out of their way to help. I was up visiting last night and dad was not doing well at all, but this morning things seemed to turn around and he even walked to the dining room. I am very impressed with the care given at this facility.
Compared to other places that I visited. I never lived in any other place except here. The bed room is spacious but the living room is small. Except for a microwave no other cooking appliance is allowed. The meals are good and filling. but I miss some of the meals we used to cook. Some places I look at had more activities and others less. I was looking for a place to get better care for my wife and I found it.
No one ever seems real happy with the food. Overall, it is okay. The location Prestige Senior Living is in, well the property of the facility is nice, but it is not in the greatest area. It is nice enough though.
I was in Auburn Meadows (Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows), and it was very nice. The staff was very nice and attentive. The rooms were big and very nice. The food was good and tasty. They had a lot of activities going on.
Lovely facility with a good and attentive staff
I'm at the Auburn Meadows now. The staff is very helpful. They are very kind and accommodating. The rooms and apartments are very nice and very large. The food is good, and it is varied. The dining room is big, nice, and very quiet. They have trips and exercise programs. They have painting programs too. I'm satisfied with the safety and security of the place. It is very nice.
The staff at Auburn Meadows was helpful. The rooms were adequate. People were playing bingo at the time of my visit. They could improve on the management though. When I scheduled something, and then I showed up at that time, they weren't aware of it. It looked like their scheduling system was not reliable. Security looked fine though.
I'm really happy with the place. I can't rate activities because they haven't been there long yet. I like that it's very family friendly, and it's very clean. My folks get help with medications, and Mom with showers, and their meals. For activities, they have movies, games, and outings. The location is pretty easy for us to access.
Mom was at Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. They were understaffed and mismanaged. We were without a director since January. They started with lots of promises, and when the new management took over they were firing employees like crazy. They did not have a dining room staff on board. The food was horrible. The staff were somewhat OK, and they were trying really hard, but there were those who didn’t work at all.
Had a confirmed appointment. When I showed up for the tour Beth was not there. The receptionist phoned Beth and she was to call me back. Didn't happen. Poor communication no follow-up. Wouldn't have my mother there.
Auburn Meadows is a very nice facility. It was very clean and very modern. The staff is very good and very friendly. The dining room was very nice but we were not able to eat there.
Friendly staff and atmosphere. Very nice facility. We like that there is an option for an early on dementia client to enjoy the benefits of assisted living and...when necessary .. the transition into the memory care unit. I also like the close knit community feel. Pretty close to 'sold' on this location.
Definitely more like it for us. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Very nice facility. We like that there is an option for an early on dementia client to enjoy the benefits of assisted living and...when necessary .. the transition into the memory care unit. I also like the close knit community feel. Pretty close to 'sold' on this location.
Very nice facilities.
I like Auburn Meadows. Will also consider this place. I have another discussion with them on Thursday at 9:30am to discuss Memeory Care and budgeting.
In the retirement section they have a full kitchen. Memory care available.
Definatley too far away, assisted living side is too large for her...to confusing, memory care side is similar to where she is now...just not right.
would be fine
Great place. Memory care the best we've seen or would want. Small group in this unit so more one on one. Activity director is wonderful. Great seems to understand all fazes of care from experience. Place is very clean, the rooms are in par with the Arbors, the grounds are well kept, nice outside walking area. Food was great!! Real menus, good portions and very tasty. The Chef took the time to come out and talk with all the residents at lunch and take suggestions and see how they were enj
I think that the staff is alright, some of them seem kindof rude to some of the people living there. The amenities are great, they have a cafeteria and other activity rooms. The rooms seemed a little small, especially since some of them were sharing a room with another person living there. The rooms were similar to dorm room style and size.
Auburn meadows seemed like a very comfortable environment for my Grandmother to be living in. The staff treated me nicely and appeared to take good care of her. My Grandmother has dementia, and there care and knowledge about it seemed substantial to the point that I had no worries about her staying and living there. The facility is also in a area that is easy to locate. I even tried some of the food and it was terrific, I was delightfully surprised and my Grandmother was too. I was happy to see
