Reviews for The Gardens at Town Square
Warm Community, Memory Care Concerns
The Gardens at Town Square earns overwhelmingly positive reviews for its welcoming community atmosphere, attentive staff, and quality dining. Families consistently praise the smooth move-in process, abundance of activities, and the facility's clean, upscale environment. However, one critical review raises serious concerns about memory care staffing and training for advanced dementia patients, citing inadequate toileting frequency, personal care lapses, and staff turnover that resulted in insufficient support for a resident with complex needs.
My husband and I enjoyed our visit very much and especially appreciated [name removed] expertise and knowledge in addressing our questions.
Moving to the Gardens at Town Square was a huge step for my parents. As a family, we felt that the Gardens was the right place for them because it had such a homey feel to it. The welcoming spirit created by the staff and residents gives the place a real sense of community. Before long, my parents made friends and found enjoyment in the activities, especially the frequent musical entertainment and great meals in the dining room. Recently, my mother moved to the memory care area. The director, Sa
We have been thrilled with the experience my parents are having at The Gardens. They have lived there almost a year, and it has been fantastic. The food is wonderful, the staff are all so helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is what you would wish for. It truly feels like home. Our dad is getting some assistance, and my mom is living independently. There aren't many places where they could be in the same room together, and the staff make this all work seamlessly, with much respect for their p
When my Mother broke her hip several years ago, we found her a new home at The Gardens at Town Square. What a lucky thing! We love the community she has become a part of. Staff is friendly and caring, knowing my Mother and her friends by name. The wellness team under the direction of Julie provides us a wonderful sense of safety with their expertise and kind, personal attention. The building is well maintained and has a cozy, European grand hotel vibe. Activities are well-planned and creative.
I visited The Gardens at Town Square's assisted living, but my dad needs more assistance than what they can provide. The man who helped me there gave some good local references that I'm going to check out. The place was beautiful, clean, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They offered me coffee and pastries.
My husband, Keith, and I have been at the Gardens for just six weeks, but we could not be happier with our choice. From the first time we walked in the door, we have been impressed with the feeling of community. The open and welcoming atmosphere has made our move so much easier, and we have so enjoyed the wide range of activities. It's a lovely place with a great staff, and we are happy to be here.
My mom just moved into the gardens, which was not her choice as her doctor recommended it and us kids knew it was in her best interest. She was not happy about it. But within 1 month of her living there, she is having a great time! The staff is so wonderful and made the move-in smooth and easy! Her apartment is so cute and looks out over the courtyard. She has met so many people and goes to so many activities she never had the chance before. Best thing we could have done for "Mom"!
The Gardens has been a wonderful experience all the way around & if we were doing it all over again, we would do everything exactly the same. There may be options that cost less but I believe we are getting what we pay for with high-end value in all respects.
Solid 5's, all across the board. My Mother has such a good life with plenty of pals and meaningful activities at The Gardens at Town Square. We couldn't be happier. The location is ideal for us. Bellevue is safe, beautiful and walkable. The Gardens are in the center of the Bellevue universe!
In March 2024, our Dad passed away, rather suddenly, in our parent’s home in Bellevue. Our Mom expressed a desire to move out rapidly, and we discussed the option of a premier senior living community. My Mom’s hope was that, during this acute period of grief, that she would not have to part with her two cats. “We will cross that bridge if we have to, she said.” I told her that our family would take care of the cats if necessary. These were searing, early conversations. I assumed responsibi

I have had the pleasure to photograph The Gardens at Town Square and work with Kamryn Wenner on the Community Relations Team. She is phoenomenal! Very kind, detailed, organized and a pleasure to spend time with. This retirement community is beautifully appointed with friendly, helpful team members and lovely residents. The homes are light and bright, open and airy. The courtyard and its pretty gardens are a great place to relax. I would highly recommend Kamryn Wenner and The Gardens at Town Squa
After thoroughly researching several senior care facilities in downtown Bellevue, we found that The Gardens was the perfect choice for my father. His one bedroom apartment is beautifully updated, clean, and comfortable, creating a welcoming environment for him to feel at home. The amenities, especially the bright and well-appointed dining room, are top-notch, making every meal a pleasant experience. The daily programs are engaging, offering a variety of fun activities that can kepp the day busy.
Moving my parents to the Gardens has been a positive experience for all of us. The staff is really great and there to help. They have a great selection of activities every day. I would recommend it.
Wonderful care here! Both of my parents are there in different areas of living. My 4 siblings and I are so happy with The Gardens!

I was pleased with the care that my loved one received at The Gardens at Town Square. The staff were attentive, kind and caring. I think the ratio of caregivers to number of residents is really good.
My mom has happily established herself in the community, and it's a delight to see her thriving with new friends and activities. The staff and care are top of the line. The facility is immaculate, well run and so classy.I want to thank your organization as well, your help was absolutely invaluable to our family in a terribly hard time.
Our room here in The Gardens at Town Square is very nice, bright, and cheerful. The people are friendly. It is well taken care of. The staff is helpful. There are outings and concerts. We haven't taken part in many, but there are lectures, and there's a resident council so people can get feedback. The dining room is very cheerful and bright, and the food is excellent.
When visiting memory care area for the first time, it is confusing to know where to go to find the person you want to visit with. But it was awesome to see all the residents together being active in some way! And every single staff person was lovely! I will also add, the level of "memory care" necessary for this particular resident is minimal, it's more physical care that is needed... And it was expressed by the resident (and I could see) that it would be nice to be able to co
My 91 year old Mother's move to assisted living was precipitated by a fall and subsequent broken hip. She was living independently and, before her accident, fierce in her insistence that she would never move to a senior community. Our experience at The Gardens has been wonderful in every aspect, from admittance to daily living in the community. The facility is beautiful and exceptionally well managed and maintained. The staff is compassionate, cheerful and interested in each resident as ind
Nice place. Have friends there.
The facility was clean and decorated nicely. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My friend I was visiting said there are many activities offered, but not many people taking advantage of that. Her apartment was very nice; clean, smelled fresh, up to date. There are restaurants and a bakery within walking distance.
Do not subscribe people who sign into see their grandparents to text messages without an obvious and explicit opt in during the sign up flow. I did not see any way to opt out even and was sent a survey. Here’s your feedback: that’s not an okay practice with people’s data and needs to be removed immediately.
The Gardens would work for people who want just an apartment building. The rooms are bright and well laid out, very clean hallways and public areas. I have to say after looking at so many places this was the best choice for my loved one.
Great Staff ❤️

5 years into living at The Gardens, our mother is happy and we are confident that she is safe and well cared for. The staff are professional and clearly dedicated to the residents, and the dining team has been outstandingly helpful in providing our mother with vegan meals. The facility appears to be well maintained and clean.
Overall excellent, Garage is difficult for larger vehicles/handicap vehicles. Cluttered and needs cleaning. Littered. Every other public place is well kept and makes a wonderful impression. Very caring and pleasant staff. Overall nicely maintained. Front desk is amazing. Programming is diverse and appears to be well run. I would consider living here
The staff shows my mother kindness and provides her with the encouragement and affirmation we all need to feel like we matter.
I like what I have seen here and have told my daughter that I want to come to the Gardens when it's my time. I really like Tina and Iggy in Memory Care. All the other caregivers have been nice too. I just haven't talked with them as much. And my friend has gotten so content after coming to memory care. She doesn't have to worry about anything. I don't know how the value is. I haven't asked how much it is.
Leadership staff are highly professional and friendly, committed to care and sense of belonging for residents. 50% of front desk staff is friendly and warm. Would be nice to not have to sign in every time. Can relatives have buttons with names/photos/colors to indicate we are regular visitors? Kitchen staff are hard working and professional. Food is good and you can tell they are trying hard with the shift in chefs. Rooms are tidy and housekeeping staff has good attention to deta
The staff is the best - they are caring, respectful, compassionate, and very helpful. They really make The Garden's a special place. It's a very well-run facility.
I appreciate the responsiveness and caring from the staff. The desk manager is amazing in her familiarity with all the resident’s circumstances. I encountered some of the caregivers in the hall and they reaffirmed the treatments and care I understand my father is receiving.
If your loved one needs memory care- do not bring them here. They will not give them the care they deserve. Not sure if just short of staff - but if they call themselves memory care providers, they should stand up to that need! Especially for the cost! My dad was starving because they would bring food and just leave and not assist him, if he wanted to stay in his room, he was left alone for hours!
The Gardens is great but so expensive. Thankfully mom can afford it. I only wish that when mom has haircut appointment or mani/pedi they would come get her. She has dementia and only getting worse but not bad enough to go to the Terrace. My sister and I help all we can taking care of her with food, TP, Loitions, shots, ect but she misses hair appointments all the time. Even when we call 15min before appointment. So not sure what to do about that. Any suggestions? Thanks

Everyone is very friendly and always willing to help out. And I feel like that culture also trickles down to the residents. I would definitely recommend The Gardens at Town Square to others.
Tour was informative and complete. I liked the apartment layouts. Plenty to think about.
The staff are super caring and attentive to both guests and the residents.
Kind and professional staff. Outstanding service. The attention to detail is tremendous.
This is a place that can truly be called home!

I enjoyed watching the Seahawks with my mother in the theater last night and the staff was very courteous. The Gardens at Town Square rocks.
Everyone is always extremely helpful.
Very caring and welcoming staff throughout the entire organization. My Mom has been here 7 years. The staff always makes me feel like I am visiting her home. Good place to live.
Angela is always so helpful at the front desk. Lots of plates she balances and always has time to ask if she can help. So appreciate all the Terrace staff.
The staff are caring and my mom always seems happy and occupied. I can sleep well knowing she is in good hands.
The staff has been friendly and helpful. A neighbor stopped by to welcome my mom upon moving in. The driver remembered my mom’s name and that he’s scheduled to drive her to a doctor appointment in a couple days. The kitchen appliances are brand new and the apartment is spotless! I think my mom will love living in the heart of downtown Bellevue, especially being so close to the library.

Great service and friendly front desk!
I moved into The Gardens At Town Square. It's lovely. They go from independent to assisted living, to memory care. Everything is spotlessly clean and looked after well. Everybody's very, very, very pleasant. They check on you every morning to make sure you're okay even if I'm in independent living, and the food is great. So everything is good. I haven't got anything to complain about. The staff has been excellent, very, very helpful. It has worked out very, very well. Th
Good community, not memory care only.
Our family was able to have an in person tour and we really did like this facility. It is in a great location, and everyone we met with was nice, gracious and did a good job showing us around.
Our family had an in person tour and it was a good experience the ladies who showed us around and spoke with our loved one were very lovely. However this community did not have the aging in place that we were looking for.
Make a lot of noise (70+dbA) in the morning. Wake me up at least 3 times a week in April-Sep
They had an excellent response time during the pandemic with keeping everyone informed. The activities were limited, but they tried their best to make up for the limitation and for all the amenities that were originally offered before the pandemic. The food had to be delivered to their rooms because the residents have limited access to the dining facility this past year.
The one thing I've always noticed that stands out about the Gardens is their staff and level of care they demonstrate. We are a local Moving Company that has worked with the Gardens and Era Living for over a decade now and through the years every time I've personally been on site there is always active involvement with the staff, always somebody there to help, residents are greeted by their name and everyone seems to feel comfortable. That is a testament to good management. Not to mention, th
[Name removed], the head chef conducted our tour and she was amazing. Answered all my mom's questions and even ate lunch with us. Food was delicious. My mom wanted a place where she could walk outside without being in the heart of the city.
Updating because this review still rings accurate to my experience, even two years later. Pretty typical. Lovely look but as regimented and emotionally sterile as any of the institutional care solutions. My mom was here for 4 years and we finally gave up. They kept escalating costs and intrusive care until we were basically forced to move her out. Thank god we did, she would have died of institutional overkill if we didn’t get her out. It is pretty. The largely immigrant staff are sweet. The adm
Great location and care. Great food in our dining room
The Gardens at Town Square's rooms were very nice. They had everything, including all the activities. The place was very elegant, and they have a bistro and a very nice library. The food was very good. The place was like a five-star hotel.
My mother was put in this facility without my knowledge. I had no iIdea where she was until the day after she arrived when she called me and asked me to come right away. I did but when I got there I was basically verbally abused and I had no understanding of why I couldn’t be there. Anytime I called they were not put me through to her I still did not know why and then I went to visit her she wasn’t there but I was waiting for. I was told I was to leave I still have no idea why until I was told b
I toured this facility when looking for a place for my Mom. The facility is brand new so it’s very bright and shiny. Everything’s new and looks super fancy. The marketing person that showed us around was very professional and seemed to know a lot about what the facility had to offer. The rooms looked beautiful and were big enough to feel comfortable and very bright. The rest of the facility had lots of windows to let light in and was very clean.
The Gardens At Town Square is a very pleasant place. We had lunch there with Tim, the public relations director, and it was very good and the food was excellent. Overall, the rates are pretty high for me. It was a good experience. The activities were great and they had a bus that take people over to Mercer Island for exercise and bathing, which was pretty phenomenal to me. There are things going on during the day, like exercise, or somebody coming in to talk about things that engage people.
Super nice place, a great fit other than it is not a walkable neighborhood. Would be a good place when [Removed] is a little older. She still wants to lead an active lifestyle.
My loved one's experience at The Gardens is going great! The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. This is a wonderful place for my loved one to live!
This was one of our top choices of different communities that we had looked at for my loved one. They had a lot of great amenities available to all of there residents and a wonderful dinning experience. The staff was also very polite during our visit and made sure not to make us feel too pressured. There was just not enough memory care help that she would have needed in this facility.
The Gardens at Town Square has been a good fit for my husband and I. There have been a couple of things that we are not satisfied with like the counter space and the older appliances. I think when they built the place they had in mind that everyone would have their meals in the dining area. Other than that, things have been going well.
Good people there
My review is for Memory Care. After living at the Gardens independently, our mom was very suddenly moved to memory care. We were unprepared for other options at the time, so our advice is BE PREPARED. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. After two years, it was delicately suggested that mom would probably be happier elsewhere. Why? Her advanced dementia was causing problems in the dementia area. That is my biggest gripe. Staff is ill prepared to deal with advanced dementia patients unless they are drugged an

I have no complaints about the care my loved one has been receiving so far from this community. The staff all have been wonderful and have made sure to accommodate her needs as best as possible. She has had no complaints about the food and has really enjoyed the various activities they provide the residents throughout the week.
I was given a good tour that I liked very much but I did not think it would work for us. The community seemed to not be able to give the right level of care. It was too urban for my loved one. After talking it over, this was not an ideal location. Otherwise, it looked very nice and is very clean. The interaction I saw seemed good.
I loved The Gardens at Town Square and the feel of the facilities. It felt more welcoming and contemporary, like a nice hotel suite. I really liked the place. I could live there; however, they could improve on providing visitors' parking.
The Gardens at Town Square accommodated my father-in-law. They brought him all three meals during the day at certain times, and he sat there and never left his chair. It caused him to have some type of a bleed inside of his body because he never got up. He never moved around and didn't do anything. It was very highly rated and a guy charged us $600 a month just to bring up his meals to him twice a day. He's been there for about six years. We were told before we put him there that they

From the moment we moved into The Gardens, my husband and I knew it was the right move for us. Both staff and residents have been so very helpful and pleasant, especially with the adjustment to downsizing and move-in. And with the abundance of activities and programs offered by The Gardens both on and off site, we are never at a loss to fill our days.
The facility is great, the staff is superior. Mom could not be happier with her new studio apartment and care. The move-in was flawless. I think what really struck me was not only a friendly and helpful staff, but even the people that live there are all smiles and sincerely happy.
Exquisite environment with lots of extras. Its location is great for seniors who love the active city lifestyle.
My father has been at The Gardens for 2.5 years and loves it. The facility looks like a country club and the staff is amazing, always friendly, caring, and helpful. The dining experience is so good that my father doesn't want to go out to eat. There is always something to do because of the daily activities, speakers, outings, and nightly movies and he has made quite a few new friends. We highly recommend the Gardens at Town Square.
This is a beautiful facility which they keep spotless. The food is great as well. It is good for those in retiirement who may only need a little help like with dressing, or showers or for those who are independant. However when the needs get greater this is not the place to live. Though the care staff are kind, the administration is not flexible and focuses on their rules rather than meeting the needs of the residents. I moved my family member as a result and now find the care is so much more
Price looks very good, Apts bigger looks promising
