Reviews for Helping Hands for the Disabled
Strong Start, Failed Transition
This facility appears to be a supportive housing program, not a traditional senior living community. Reviews reflect a deeply mixed experience: clients praise the initial intensive support from Helping Hands (case management, mental health services, furnished apartments, transportation), but multiple reviews describe a devastating transition to Volunteers of America that left residents struggling with abrupt terminations, inconsistent case management, and financial instability. While the original program earned strong loyalty for its comprehensive approach and patient staff, the organizational change seemingly undermined clients' progress toward stability.
What I really liked about this program is they found me in my baby daddy / boyfriend when we were going through it & we were stuck living outside in a tent and they came & they rescued us & put us in hotels for several months until they could help get us into our own apartment & I like that in this program we got given a case manager in a therapist & I like that the Helping Hands office wasn't just in office but it was also a clinic with nurses & doctors on site so you could see someone for your

However, if you are in need of housing you may want to consider this as it's a lot better and easier than any other program I've been in but they are not your mothers they will serve you in the capacity that they are able able to they will be patient with you to a point if you blatantly break the rules and cause problems too much they will evict you but the evictions I've

They kicked my girlfriend out and have made her live on the streets for the last 2 months ir so which is not safe especially since me and her have some disabilitys also if I am even caught talking to her on the property they threaten to kick me out or if anyone else talks to her that person and I will be removed from the program. The only issues they seem to be solving is removing us from our camps and then mak
We visited one very rainy day for a COVID-19 vaccine. Every single person we met was very friendly and helpful to us. Despite the horrible weather, everyone was in such a great mood. Definitely will be coming back for our second dose. Thank you so much.
