Reviews for Aegis of Issaquah

Exceptional Care, Beautiful Setting

Aegis Issaquah receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with families praising the warm, attentive staff, excellent food quality, and beautiful cottage-style setting with protected walkways. Reviewers highlight strong safety measures (including AI fall prevention), responsive nursing care, and meaningful activities that help residents thrive. A few note the high cost and mention that during COVID lockdowns socialization was limited; one family found the small cottage format too confining for their highly active loved one who needed more interaction.

I am very grateful that my mother is living at Aegis in Issaquah. I firmly believe that she is living her best life at Aegis because of the care she receives there. I appreciate every staff member and all that they do for my mother, and all the residents. Thank you.

I moved my husband to Aegis Issaquah from an adult home this past summer and we cannot be happier for making this change. The adult family home did a god job taking care of my husband. My husband is very active and enjoys taking walks and socializing with other residents. However, their approach to reducing my husband’s falls was to keep him in a dining chair most of the time. Realizing this was inhibiting my husband’s muscle development socialization, we began searching for a new community. Aft

Dawn is absolutely wonderful and the caregivers are great!

This place is a nightmare. It was seriously understaffed. My father was severely neglected. He didn't have a functioning call button. He was hospitalized and they didn't inform me. They tried to overcharge us over 14 thousand dollars. Things went horribly, dangerously wrong over and over again, and management gaslit me the whole time. I got my dad out, but I still worry about the people who are still there.

It's really well run and safe. The food is nutritious. Residents are kept busy with activities like arts and crafts, bingo, bus trips and lots of live music performances. It is also all on one level. Not having elevators is a relief for residents and family. My mom has made new friends and is noticeably happier.

The open feeling of the one-story buildings and the woodsy setting makes you feel less confined than in multiple-story facilities. Feels more home-like. The staff contribute to that feeling of being in a home, not a business-- very caring.

Making the decision to put our family member at Aegis Issaquah was very hard. They had been overseen and under the care of myself and my husband since 1998, even living in our home for almost 3 years. When we realized we could no longer give the care needed we looked into the assisted living homes in our area of which there were 3. I liked the aesthetics of the Aegis property and the people I met there. I was impressed with the food! Our loved one has been at Aegis almost a year now and while th

They serve cold food to residents and do not place people in proper areas when they are coherent and can talk. My family member very able to talk and walk was placed in an area of the facility where people didn’t talk and were like zombies. After less than 1 month, our family removed my family member back home. Food was left sitting until,it was cold and then served to people living there. Food served was questionable and some not even cooked to be able to chew. My family members spent hours the

I moved my dad up to Washington to live near me in October 2020 after he had lost his wife a year earlier. I was immediately taken with the beautiful grounds and walking spaces at Aegis of Issaquah, the friendly residents, the courteous staff, and delicious, healthy, inventive meals, a must for my dad. We chose the most beautiful room, with a view of the lush grounds, and my dad able to regularly greet bunnies, deer, and songbirds at his spacious windows. It has been over 4 years and Aegis has

I brought my mom to Aegis Living of Issaquah for respite care — 30 days of transitional care. She was welcomed with open arms. The staff was able to get her settled in within 3 days. The care was great, full nursing staff on site, nice activities, live music and friendly caregivers — and the food was amazing!

The folks at Aegis Issaquah are now our extended family. In July of 2023 our father suffered a stroke. We toured a lot of facilities and thought we’d found the one…. until we toured the gorgeous cottages at Aegis in Issaquah. Wow! The perfect place for our dad. Extremely clean, welcoming staff and a genius layout of the property to ensure a comfortable inclusive environment for its residents. A world renowned chef and staff who interacts with residents and family to confirm an outstanding meal

Aegis Living of Issaquah looks like a great facility. I got the impression that the people there had activities to do and people were attentive. I thought that looked like a good facility. We also toured another place that seemed kind of depressing, like the memory care folks were just kind of shoved in the basement. This place seemed like there were nice big windows so they could look outside of the trees. It's very beautiful. There was a nice porch where they could sit outside. The reside

From day one of visiting Aegis Living Issaquah, the genuine hospitality and authenticity of the people was evident. Patty has done a terrific job helping my 93 year aunt make the transition to assisted living. Everytime we visit, there are so many activities going on. My aunt loves living there and we are thrilled with the level of attention and care she receives. I highly recommend Aegis Living Issaquah

As a mobile notary I travel to many assisted living facilities. Aegis in Issaquah is surrounded by lush pacific mountain trees on a quiet street. As I walked in I was greeted by super kind staff they had an easy computer check in process which I thought was wonderful that gave me a sticker name tag for my visit inside the facility. Once I checked in a staff member walked with me down to my clients apartment! Which was so nice as we got to learn about the fun activities and several different func

The friendliness of the management and staff were what originally drew us to Aegis. They were amazing! They made my mother feel so welcome and valued that by the end of her stay, they felt like family. They certainly treated her like family! The beauty of the garden area was also a huge plus! It was such a lovely setting, it was easy to feel comfortable there.

We picked this community, because of the complete med care, on site nurse & care, concierge, shuttle bus, group dining planned festive celebrations, covered walkways, outdoor patio & BBQ area, landscaping, activities, good communication & nice well maintained buildings. I would recommend to other families.

My experience with Aegis of Issaquah has been a lovely one with their care for my Mom. I will sum it up with three C's: Community: The Aegis community provides a strong sense of family-get to know the staff and you will find them warm, personable as well as professional. The cottage environment makes a cozy gathering spot for the residents in a family like setting. Activities abound and create a happy atmosphere. Communication: Frequent emails, attentive front desk staff, an activity app of your

The place was great, however, from my point of view at a time there was Covid in community, so it was a lock down. Nothing bad particularly happened just because of the lockdown. My friend is not there anymore, I moved her from there because what was important for her was to have more activity around her. She was very functional, however, her short-term memory recall was and still is her entire issue. So she needed constant reminders, and whatnot. She also had a cat and she was basically locke

Aegis has been the most amazing place you could place your loved one for aging care! Very professional, very responsible, very hands on and emotional care for your loved one and especially YOU!

Good community, not memory care only.

Saskia VSeptember 22, 2021

This community was my third choice. This community was small separate cottages with 10-12 people. This just seemed to small and confined for my loved one.

Making people pay for services never received regularly just to squeeze them for every penny possible. I may not have a family member in this places care. However I am thankful CREDIBLE JOURNALISM exposes places like this so I can keep aware in the future. Disappointing.

In the short time she was here, it was a great experience. We chose Aegis because of the amount of care that they were capable of giving, the atmosphere, the way they had them housed. It was 10 residents per house, so they were their own little community. Every time I went in here the staff members here were just wonderful. We could not have picked a better place for her. It was expensive but worth every penny. I would tell others to just check it out and you will know. Just going here you get t

My mother-in-law is at the Aegis Living of Issaquah and we can't say enough good things about it. They specialize in dementia and the only way they will move a resident to memory care is when they are a harm to themselves or others. Everybody there has dementia. It is very tranquil with beautiful grounds; they have separate grounds. It is not a large building, and so there's not a lot of stories and elevators that the seniors have to navigate. They call them cottages, and in each cotta

Aegis of Issaquah had a nice quaint setting like a cottage. It was one level, there's a covered walk outside, and there were lots of hanging plants and landscaping around it. It's also secure and very clean. The staff was nice, friendly, and accommodating, but I think some of them need a little bit more experience.

I visited Aegis, and it's like a resort. It's very clean and orderly. The rooms were quite small, but very nice. The people were very proactive, very nice, and very helpful. They seemed to have nice service and facilities.

We were looking for a place for my mother who has beginning stages of dementia. First, as upsetting as it is to have my mom dealing with this disease and of course my dad being worried about her, etc. finding the "right" place has been a pretty scary experience. We chose this community for what seemed to us to be a very loving environment and also the outside spaces. Most of the other places we went to had very limited outside spaces for residents in a secure memory care area. My mom l

My mother-in-law spent a month there this Spring under a one-month respite care. It is not a cheap option to do one month, nor is the monthly fee if you're a permanent resident. However, for the quality of care I would not qualify it as an unfair price either. Initially I was concerned as we had no experience with this facility, however the management had recently undergone change and I found the staff to be caring and appreciated the time the executives took with my wife and I to help with t

My experience with Aegis did not end well. I had my mom there for about three years in their Issaquah facility. On the plus side the actual caregivers themselves were very dedicated and really did their very best to help make my mom's time there pleasant. There are lots of activities and the place sure looks good from the outside. One of the challenges of working with this facility is their somewhat complicated fee basis. They have a system of care points and rates and rent points and rates wi

My mom right now is at Aegis of Issaquah - Aegis Living. She's been there for two months now in their memory care facility. The facility is nice, and her room is not too big nor too small. Their dining area is very nice, clean, and open. The food is adequate. It's not fancy, but it's good, basic food. There seems to be a decent variety in terms of what they eat. It's palatable for their palate. It is institutional food, but I think they do a pretty good job out of it. For the

My mother is a resident in the hospice unit. The care, kindness and encouragement she receives from the staff is exemplary. The staff is very responsive to our needs and hers which makes this difficult time in our lives bearable. My family thanks the staff for taking such loving care of my mother. Their job is not easy but because of their dedication we are thankful that she is there.

My parents have been living at Aegis for several months. The facility and the grounds are well maintained. The social and recreational programming is supposed to be geared towards individual interests, but my parents' interests have not yet been addressed. Encouragement to participate seems to be minimal. I visit regularly. When I visit unexpectedly, I always find my parents in their room regardless of day or time. My mother is usually sleeping. The staff members are all very friendly

I visited Aegis of Issaquah and the staff are very kind. The staff are fairly conscientious about making potential new comers feel welcome. They are very attentive and good as far as taking care of the families too. The only drawback is that they don't offer Medicare. The rooms are really small and they have cottages which is a different concept. They had very nice grounds for people that want to walk and it's in a very nice part of the town. It's a safe and really walk-frie

Aegis Living is very clean, the food is good, and so is the staff. Their cottage concept is geared towards my mother's needs in terms of dementia. Mother has stayed there for rested care before and she liked it, so that kind of influenced our decision. I liked their very pleasant grounds and the windows in their units look out into wide areas and bird feeders; not a parking lot, a freeway, or building. They have a fitness, mind, and craft activities as well as Bible discussion groups, whi
