Reviews for Ciel Senior Living of Issaquah
Loving Staff, Recent Concerns
Ciel of Issaquah (formerly Fieldstone/Columbia Landing) receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its caring, compassionate staff who form genuine relationships with residents and families. Reviewers consistently praise the engaging activities, cleanliness, and specialized memory/Parkinson's care. However, a critical 2024 review alleges significant deterioration after new management took over—citing reduced staffing ratios, neglect, and transition away from personalized memory care. Earlier reviews (2021-2022) also mentioned weekend understaffing, slow call-button response, and inconsistent personal care like showering.
I have had the pleasure of visiting Ciel of Issaquah on several occasions, each of which has been nothing short of exceptional. Staff are extremely friendly, always welcoming and ready to lend a helping hand. The environment is beautifully maintained, creating a space that is both convenient and comfortable. I would highly recommend Ciel for the knowledge and compassion they bring to the community.
Amazing team at this community. The staff are so caring and always make sure the best is provided. Supportive to my family we struggled to make this decision but it was honestly the best one we could have made. Very happy and confident that or father is in the best hands💜💜💜💜
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to visit Ciel of Issaquah and meet another family member who had just made the very difficult decision to move his mother into this community. In that moment, I realized how many of us walk this same road with the same fears—and how comforting it is to know we’re not alone. What stood out most was the trust that the team here inspires. The staff was warm, welcoming, and truly invested in making sure families felt supported through each step of the process.
We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding care our grandmother receives at Ciel of Issaquah. From the moment she moved in, the staff has shown nothing but kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion. One of the things that really set Ciel apart for us is their Parkinson’s certification. My Nana has never been happier. Nana is always telling me about all her exciting stories she had each week. So happy for her. Thank you so much for her help!
Everybody's very friendly there and very caring towards the residences. The activity director and her assistants are amazing and the interaction among all who live there is great.
Ciel is the perfect place to call home. The campus is beautiful, clean and well-kept. The staff and environment are very positive and welcoming, and most importantly, the care is exceptional. The staff, especially Executive Director (Jordan), has extensive knowledge and care for each individual resident. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone in need of the best care. My family and I spent several hours on a Saturday and the time and attention Jordan gave us was exceptional. What a
My mother was a resident for 6 years. Was terrific until new management took over a year ago and the place fell apart. Good quality dropped, ratio of care givers to resident dropped, they did away with transition plans between shifts and gave everyone iPads to try and figure out the care, medical changes and behavioral issues. Staff lies about care, management is over bearing to them, so very high turnover. The days of personal relationships with residents went out the door. They are transi
It was a little rough to begin with, but it was probably a combination of getting my mother's meds straightened out , changing to Ciel, and sometimes the language barrier. They hired an additional activity director, who is great.
I would highly recommend Colombia landing. It's clean , great activities, good food, but most of all , all the staff are Golden.
I moved my mom in here a couple of months ago. The staff was very welcoming and made my mom feel at home right away. She made some friends with a group of ladies who she chats with at every me. The activities are engaging and they make them doable for all levels.
When my dad moved in a year ago, I had no idea what to expect. The team at (now) Columbia Landing has become like family to us. My dad has been doing so well there, he is content and thriving. The food is always tasty, my dad is a big fan of the desserts. Activities folks are great, I don’t know how they do what they do but they keep everyone busy! In a lot of ways this place has given parts of my dad back to me, at least more quality time with him and I appreciate that more than I can explain h
My dad loves this place, staff, food and activities!
Love how friendly the staff is every time I come to visit my grandmother. They do a great job keeping informed on how she is doing. We enjoy walks in the garden that is well kept up.
So happy Fieldstone has stepped up to keep our loved ones safe during Covid-19. Happy with all the activities offered! Looking forward to many Great years ahead.
My mom moved into this community 2 years ago. We love it, my mom is very happy her quality of life is important to us and the staff go above and beyond to get to know her and make sure she is happy. All of the people who live here have dementia, so it is always lively. Lots of Activities and the food is great.
Overall excellent place for my wife!
We are 5 months strong at Fieldstone. The bright cheerful community is very welcoming. The administration staff [name removed] are readily available and extremely helpful with everything. Since there is no manual for caring for aging parents. And Mom's care team[name removed] to name a few!. Are wonderful. The food is yummy hooray! We are thankful for everything. "Lifeloop" Since we have family that lives far away. And your activities team at Fieldstone.... Hats off to [name removed] You guys "
We are new but have just loved all of the staff. [names removed] have been amazing.
I really don't even know where to begin other than from the start. Before we moved Mom into Fieldstone, we felt the love of the community - this love just grew - the whole time Mom was with you. We always felt respect and compassion, every time we walked through the front doors and were always greeted with a smile and or a hug. The foundation we built together for your care for Mom - just grew, every single day - right through the very end. If there was an issue - it was dealt with immediatel
I am very happy with the folks who operate Fieldstone, especially[name removed] They are always willing to listen to my concerns about my wifes care and to take immediate actions to resolve the problem. I am very impressed by the family (caregiver) group it is has sparsely increased my knowledge about dementia and other memory issues and how I should have been with them. [name removed] feel like part of my extended family. They really care about all of the residents.
Wonderful, supportive staff. Lots of friendly faces. Quick to respond to questions and always willing to lend a helping hand. Well maintained, beautiful community. Not enough good words for them.
Words cannot express my gratitude for everyone of you! From the director, nurses, health care aides, cooks, cleaning staff, activity people, maintenance, and front office. You all are angels on earth! I won't list names, as I am sure I would forget someone vital. Know that I saw you and I acknowledge your contribution to loving and caring for [name removed]. Each of you used your gifts to make his time there safe, special and full of love! He never once asked if he cold come home because you mad
I have worked in senior living for over ten years. This community is different from other memory cares because they truly feed on engagement. Most residents are out of their rooms everyday and appear to be happy. Staff are generally the same every time I am here which is nice to see. I feel good referring family to this community.
I would not recommend this facility to anyone who wants their loved one to be well taken care of. The lack of care and attention to the cleanliness of the residents is appalling. They provide the excuse of not giving residents showers by saying that the resident refused to have a shower, but they won't spend the time to convince the resident that they need the care. I agree with a previous reviewer that there are many times that I have been there when the "caretaker" are busy looking at their
The staff are exceptionally rude and use intimidation to get their way. You are not allowed to ask questions of any of the staff or you will be threatened with banishment from the property. While where are some good individual staff members, if you visit off hours you will see most of them on their phones and really annoyed at being bothered by you or the residents. It's all window dressing and no substance. If you care about your loved one, do not let them go here.
Plus things: Lots of activities for the residents. Meals appear to be tasty and nutritive. Rooms appear to kept clean. Minus things: Sorely understaffed on weekends. Response time to call buttons being pulled by residents horrible. Constant smell of urine in hallways outside resident rooms. No nurse on duty (just on call) at night and on weekends. No attention to residents personal habits - if the resident isn't up and ready to take a shower when the caregiver wants to give it, the resident does
Very well run facility. They only do memory care and do it well! Would recommend highly!
My husband has been in Fieldstone for over a year. All other staff are loving, caring, and take wonderful care of him. They accommodate his picky food choices. I have never seen anything that I would consider negative. I am so thankful for Issaquah Fieldstone and their amazing staff!!!
short staff at night shift need to focus on outreach and maintain communication with family of loved ones. Hire executive chef instead of temporary replacements regular housekeeping for residents residents belonging are missing and lost with no explanation from caregiver or facility.
This is a good place to go if you have to go. The staff is friendly and caring. There are lots of activities available for the residents. Some of those include movies, and for the residents.
This is a very warm and welcoming community. They have extremely caring staff that create a family environment. where not only the residents but the family of the residents feel welcome into the community.
I was really impressed with the atmosphere of the place, it felt like home and a community. And it focused on memory care and of course care for the community members. I liked that it is all on one floor studio rooms are a nice size. this place is at the top of the list.
Fieldstone Memory Care Issaquah has been an unexpected gift! I was unhappy with my father’s care at an adult family home because he lacked any and all stimulation, which is so critical to the care of those with Parkinson’s Disease, and I was fearful of his disposition during my impending maternity leave so I began my search for an alternative. From my very first interaction with Fieldstone and it’s Staff, my father and I have been treated like family. [name removed], the face and outreach of the
This community is where my parents live it is a brand new building so there is room for improvement. They had a companion suite and they allowed them to have their cat. They have 2 separate rooms now unfortunately. They would come in weekly and clean and do the laundry. I feel like the communication among the staff could be improved. They had 3 really good meals a day the portion size was appropriate, with plenty of snacks in between. I would recommend them.
I am very thankful that I was able to find this place because this facility is exemplary. They promote “resident centered” treatment where the level of care is dependent on the residents themselves and not the other way around. The building feels like it’s a hotel and not at all like a nursing facility. There’s a nice open area where the residents are able to interact with the caregivers and the medical support is amazing. What the facility presents is exactly what they give, which is a very sup
I had a "hard hat" tour of this facility and did not get to see it finished. [Removed] was very knowledgeable and helpful regarding the facility and memory care needs. I was looking for both parents - one with memory care needs and one w/out. I felt that my parent w/o memory problems would not fit in as well and decided to choose another facility, otherwise this would have been my top choice for my parent with early-onset Alzheimer's as I thought the layout, design and concept of this facility w
