Reviews for Brookdale Renton
Caring Staff, Serious System Failures
This facility shows stark contrasts between recent individual staff praise and serious operational concerns. Multiple 2025 reviews highlight exceptional CNAs (Donna, Patrick, Marivel, Jayla, Amberlea) and improved management under Susie, while other recent reviews describe systemic failures including inadequate food service, insufficient patient monitoring, and conditions so poor one resident leaves daily to avoid being there. Older reviews consistently cite dated facilities, nursing-home atmosphere, urine odors, poor maintenance, and disengaged residents, though some note cleanliness and friendly staff.
This place is a disaster everything is done so wrong here it's unbelievable I wish the state of Washington would close this place down because of everything that is done so wrong here I get out of here every single day by public transportation and go all over King county and parts of Snohomish cuz I can't stand to be here when I was working full time as a commercial underwriter I enjoyed actually being at home but having to exist here I can't wait to get out of here and be gone as many hours a d
My aunt was thankful to have a place to stay but as time went on, there were some concerns she had that ultimately had her move back to the island of Kauai with family. The Renton facility didn't have a kitchen and sometimes they didn't order enough food or the food was dry and cold when delivered, older more sickly patients would be left for hours without being checked.
Donna is an outstanding person/cna whose compassion and dedication truly set her apart. She cares for her patients with a level of kindness, patience, and professionalism that is rare to find. Her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to connect with people make her an incredible asset in any care setting. Patrick is truly one of the best CNAs I’ve ever met. He goes above and beyond for every patient, treating everyone with kindness, respect, and genuine care. He’s always attentive and patient, making sure every need is met without ever making anyone feel rushed or like a burden. His positive attitude and calm presence make such a difference — especially on tough days. You can tell he really loves what he does, and it shows in how he treats people. Any facility would be lucky to have someone as co
My great aunt lives at Green Lake Senior Living in Renton, and I can’t say enough good things about the care she’s received. Jayla and Amberlea are absolutely the best CNAs!!!! my aunt always has nothing but positive words for them. They’re attentive, compassionate, and make her feel comfortable and cared for every day. I’ve also noticed how much the community has improved under the new management. Susie, the manager, has been incredibly helpful and supportive whenever we’ve had questions. She’
I learned about assisted living and I'm glad I visited Brookdale. Before I make any move decisions I need to talk to my current apt. owners about how soon and how much my current rent is going to go up. This is the closest place to my son and I will stay here as long as I can afford to do so. Thanks for your help. I've learned important information. Thank you and I will keep your contact info. for the future. [name removed]
I never thought that senior living was basically a nursing home and that's what this breminded me of.very dated.i worked in this building years ago in the late 70s.hasnt really changed.you get what you pay for.i wouldn't look let my mum go there. Didn't think much of the menu.some tenants wandering looking lost like they didn't want to be.
A very nice person showed us around the property and shared good information. The property was very dated and was not a good fit for my Dad.
I thought that this place was very clean and well maintained by all the staff and residents. They where very welcoming to my dear friend and I and kept things very professional during our visit. I especially liked the menu they had available as well as the activity log they had for the week. It was just not the right fit of location for him. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone interested in an assisted living.
The people I met at this community were nice. The community looked clean. This community offers daily activities and allows pets.
The Brookdale Renton was clean and everyone was very friendly. They did not take my mother because of the level of care that she required, but they helped me out a lot with questions on Medicaid and really appreciated that.
The Executive Director was very informative and helpful with our questions. Since this is an assisted living facility, it's not suitable for our mothers at this time as they are still capable of independent living.
Old building, small rooms, not attractive location. Very diverse population and staff. Everyone was very friendly and appeared to be very happy.
I toured the property and after a personal walk through the community it was not as appealing as to it's sister property and without a doubt I knew the other community was where I wanted to be located.
This complex is run-down - from the yard maintenance on the outside to the bar coming loose in the elevator. Carpets were thread bare, and all staff work on the 3rd floor (nobody to greet visitors on the main floor). The residents were not engaged (those in the community area just zoned out watching tv). It felt more like a nursing home than independent living/assisted living. I would never consider this complex.
We were referred to them and a family member had lived there several years before so when we were going around I looked at them again and it certainly hadn't improved any. It was an absolutely horrible facility and I would never ever recommend anybody there unless their needs and economic circumstance were such that they had no other options. It's just a disgusting facility with a horrible staff. The clealiness was bad, there was an odor of urine, the people looked like they were not well taken
This location was to much on a hill for walking around further than the campus. Otherwise nice place
The facility is clean and warm
Units are mixed. some studios with kitchenette and some 1 bedrooms with shared kitchen.
