Troubling Decline After Ownership Change
Reviews are highly polarized between two distinct time periods. Older reviews (2019) praised this facility as warm, family-like, with engaged ownership and compassionate staff. Recent reviews (2025) report severe decline after ownership change, citing management abuse, state violations, dangerous incidents (pine sol given instead of juice), language barriers with caregivers, and extreme staff turnover. The transformation suggests a fundamentally different operation under new ownership.
This AFH IS HORRIBLE! The management, Martha and Ian, Alaew extremely abusive to the clients. They promise so much when you sign up, but deliver nothing. Homestead Park AFH has had multiple State Violations, negative court judgements and Sanctions against them. They often hire caregivers that do not speak any English and who have had zero experience. The caregiver, only one for 6 clients, is expected to work 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Therefore the overturn of caregivers is immense. There is no
My sister was here for over a year and things went well at first. Then the home was sold and things went downhill from there. There was a language barrier between the residents and caregivers. We ended up moving her to another home after she was given pine sol in place of apple juice.
This place is Awesome. They worked with me throughout the whole process of moving my mother with a level of caring that made me feel at ease. They are the most caring and family like place that I visited for my mother. She was only able to stay there one month before passing, but the time that she did spend there she was comfortable and cared for beyond measure. Not only the care staff, but also the residents show great amounts of compassion. I highly recommend this care home for your loved one
My wife received outstanding care from dedicated staff members at Pleasant Valley Senior Care. The owner is fully engaged with the facility, often on site, and always anxious to help. These facilities are sometimes referred to as adult family homes. At Pleasant Valley, the word “family” surely applies. I recommend the home without reservation to anyone in need of care in a welcoming, loving environment.
My mother is well cared for here. The small, family-oriented atmosphere is just what our family was looking for in a new home for our beloved mother. The manager is genuinely caring, very professional, quite efficient, and so sweet. The whole staff is very good at caring for all levels of needs while staying available for each patient. Very happy with Pleasant Valley!
