Reviews for The Village at Broadview

Divided Experiences: Cottages vs Nursing

Broadview Center shows a stark divide in experiences. Some families praise the caring RN staff, cottage-style community atmosphere that fosters bonding among residents, and assistance with daily living activities for long-term residents. However, multiple recent reviewers report serious deficiencies in the skilled nursing/rehab wing: delayed or absent physical therapy, minimal bathing and hygiene leading to pervasive urine odors, extremely slow call-button response times (5-10+ minutes), poor facility maintenance, and difficulty reaching supervisors. Families seeking memory care or assisted living cottages may find a supportive environment, while those needing short-term rehab or skilled nursing should proceed with extreme caution.

Bryan Johnston is one of the kindest people I know in the business, he is extremely talented and his love for the senior population is apparent. The Village at Broadview is fortunate to have him there.

My mother started living at Foss cottages 7 years ago. She had to transition over to the skilled nursing facility about 4years ago. She has been under the watchful eye of Violet Baharloo after making this move. We are so fortunate to have such a caring, detailed, & good communicative RN taking care of my mother. She is always thinking of what would be in her best interest & is a big asset to the Broadview Center!

So far, she has only one physical therapy session in four days, and only after many requests. She has not had any labs drawn, despite discharge instructions from UW for labs within 3 days. She finally had a shower and a change of bedding on day 4, after numerous requests. It takes 5 to 10+ minu

This is skilled nursing, senior living, etc. This place is not too bad. The staff are generally hardworking, and polite. (The place to stay away from is called Washington Care center. That place is a zero star.)

I was there August 14, 2025. Walk in to the overwhelming smell of urine. Past the new construction front to the slumped over patients in wheelchairs not being engaged with anyone. Outside to the courtyards where no one has done a bit of gardening maintenance in ages and rickety tables and chairs haven’t been washed off. If you’re not scared off now walk to see how awful a “private room” is - it’s better in a prison here for sure. The reviews from others - how much time have you spent here? Wareh

When it became apparent that my older sister was not capable of living independently I and my brother went to work to find her a living situation that was suitable for her particular personality and care needs. After a certain amount of trial and error we found Broadview Village (aka Foss Village at the time). Transitioning from my sister's previous housing was made as easy as possible given the complexities of medicaid financing and her specific needs. The practical activities of daily living
