Reviews for Norse Home
Caring Staff, Communication Concerns
Norse Home earned consistent praise for its warm, long-tenured staff and caring atmosphere, with multiple families describing relatives as happy and thriving. However, the facility has since closed, and one family experienced a serious communication breakdown when not notified of their relative's death for 9 days. Small room sizes were a recurring concern among reviewers.
You people are crazy I’m of course Scandinavian and all of a sudden you people close this place down??? Our relatives have always thought the best of this place. Now it’s gone 😝
While I believe my uncle received adequate care at this facility, when he passed away I was not notified. I found out by a fluke when our second cousin was going to visit him and was informed he had passed 9 days earlier. I left multiple voicemails with the Nursing Manager and have yet to be called back. I don’t understand how this could have happened. I’m floored.
My father lived here for 1 1/2 years, and regularly told me how lucky he felt to be living in this community. The staff and management are caring, warm, and knowledgeable and many of them have worked here for decades. We ❤️ Norse Home!
This is a wonderful place to be. The staff does an excellent job at taking care of my loved one. Since coming to this community my loved one has thrived and that makes me very happy. Some of the staff here have been at this community for 40 years. That says a lot about a company. They go on many outings and to the zoo. They also have a happy hour where the bar is open. I love have they still allow my loved one to be there self.
I did not like this community at all, it was unacceptable. The biggest problem we found was the size of the room. It was very small, I don't understand how someone could live there. It was okay overall, the place is remodeled and under new management.
The experience has been going very well for my friend. The community is a good fit for her and she likes it very much. My friend likes the meals they provide. Every time we have been there it has been clean, it is quiet impressive. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
While I am old enough to stay in a retirement community, I choose to have my own home. Having just sold my home and not having purchased a new home, I was in a dilemma about finding an interim residence that was safe and in an area where I eventually wanted to reside. Kathy spent a lot of time helping me decide if the Norse Home was the place for me and helping me complete all the details of my living arrangement. I will be moving in about a week and feel certain that I will be happy there un
I was so struck with how warm and welcoming Norse Home is. The decor is bright and open, every one I met was really nice to meet. The rooms are small, but the ones at the back of the building have breath-taking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula. On every floor are homey lounges, so guests can visit with each other. Honestly, by the time I left, I was comparing their independent living costs with my retirement income!
My father lives at the Norse home and he regularly tells me, "you couldn't have brought me to a more beautiful place." He also asks me, "how can I ever repay you?" I told him, "dad, as long as you are happy, that is payment enough." The atmosphere is friendly, the staff always go above and beyond to meet the residents needs. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to experience a warm environment with caring staff. Although the building is large it amazing how cozy feeling it is on each floor
Big dinning room & living rooms on each floor. Most rooms are small. Residents seem happy.
