Reviews for The Kenney

Caring Staff, Beautiful Campus

The Kenney consistently earns praise for its caring, attentive staff who know residents by name and treat them like family. Reviewers highlight surprisingly excellent food quality, immaculate cleanliness, and a beautiful park-like campus with an arboretum and gardens. The one critical note mentioned an unwelcoming atmosphere during a 2019 visit when remodeling was underway, but more recent reviews describe a warm, active community that families consider the best among Seattle-area senior living options.

My mom has been a Kenney resident for several years. I could not be more pleased with her care at the Kenney. Everybody on staff goes out of their way to be kind, caring, and respectful of every resident. Guest rooms are available for out-of-town family and visiting family can dine with their loved one. The food is surprisingly excellent, definitely far better quality and variety than one normally associates with "institutional meals". My mom has resided at four different elder care facilitie

Toured THE KENNY today with Kimberly Spencer. I am interested in 2bdrm/2bath independent living unit. Kimberly was very knowledgeable and professional, as well as answering all questions. The buildings are very clean and quiet. I found it charming that there is such a variety of apartment styles. In addition, the grounds were lovely and very well cared for. There was another definite plus, that is that there is storage available outside the the apartment for items such as luggage/sports equipme

Looking for the perfect retirement community where your loved one will be in good hands? The Kenney is the place for them! The food here is amazing, and the kitchen crew loves whipping up an assortment of meals to delight the community members here. They gave me a tour of their kitchen, and it was immaculate! Also, The Kenney has an assortment of living arrangements tailored to each individual’s needs.

The staff at The Kenney are dedicated to their residents and to returning the community and the facilities to their previous high standards. The grounds here are beautiful, and unlike anything seen in a city setting with the large yard and many trees. It's like having a park in your back yard (not to mention that it's right next to Lincoln Park). Definitely worth a look!

Had a great evening at The Kenney in West Seattle for a Chamber of Commerce event. It's incredible that this place isn't just a senior living community—they've got this amazing arboretum on site! I was really impressed by all the different trees and flowers they have. Truly a hidden gem in the area. The staff was super friendly and even mentioned they offer free tours if you're curious about the place. If you’re nearby and want to see something special, I'd definitely recommend stopping by!

The Kenney is a delightful and special community. My mom is in assisted living here. Since moving from the East Coast she has lived in at least 6 other senior communities in Seattle and Bellevue, so we know the lay of the land. Every community has its pros and cons, but for our family, the Kenney is the absolute best. The Kenney is built like a campus, in a park-like setting with walkable private grounds and historic charm, convenient to the city (on the bus line!) yet safe and tranquil, next do

The Kenney is really good. They have people who come in and clean up your house for you if choose, which is helpful. It's sort of like having a family to help you take care of some things you're not able to do for yourself. The staff are so fun, helpful, and kind, and it feels like a family. The food is good and getting better all the time. I'm amazed. They've had some turnover, but considering that, all in all everything is working out pretty well. They're so good with activities. The pe

I would not want to spend time here visiting my mother. Staff was nice. They are remodeling.

My mom is in this community she has lots of daily activities. Lots of people are around and there is always something to do. They quality of food is great. The staff always interacts with all of the residents. It is extremely clean and they will do her linens and towels 1x a week. This is close to my sister and I. There is a lovely garden area and also a veggie garden that they can grow things in. I would recommend this community.

There was one person at The Kenney who was great and toured my daughter and me around. We had lunch there, and everything was fine. They gave me a list of the activities that they had every month. It's in a residential neighborhood, and I was looking for some walkability for other activities. They also wanted a big fee payment upfront.

The Kenney is where I wanted my mother to go to. I like the facility. It has a really good reputation. It's been around this town for years and it has been maintained for a long time. My mother thought the price was too much. That's why she didn't go there. What's neat is you can start out there independent and they take you til you're fully dependent. It goes all across that span and it's got a very high reputation for its care. The rooms are very nice. It depends

My grandfather has been at The Kenney for almost 4 years now, and, while my mother is the one who takes care of him, I visit fairly frequently. The facility has independent-living, assisted-living, and a nursing/rehab center. For the first couple years, my grandfather was in assisted-living and had a beautiful room with a large window and lots of natural light. After he fell and broke his hip he was moved to the nursing/rehab center, which is in a different part of the facility with much less na

The Kenney is a top-notch facility in beautiful West Seattle. The grounds are beautifully maintained, though I wish there were more parking. The staff is warm and friendly, from the front desk personnel to the serving staff in the dining rooms. I visit the Kenney regularly with my daughters, and the staff is always ready to accommodate our dining needs with a pre-set table. The meals are basic, but delicious. The multi-floor buildings are storied and showcase the Kenney's history, as well a

The Kenney is a wonderful retirement and assisted living facility. The units are clean and bright and the staff treats residents like family. I appreciate that the facility offers a wide range of interesting activities for residents and the dinin room offers fresh health meals throughout the day.

My client was sent to the Kenney after a fall. She remained for two months. While the building is lovely and the staff seems very nice, we had some trouble. They sent my client home with insulin to use, but it had expired. We also received multiple bills for the same services. I spent a great deal of time on the phone trying to resolve these issues, and it felt like I was being passed from person to person. When my client fell again, she requested not to be sent to this facility and choose anoth
