Reviews for Cristwood Retirement Community
Warm Community, High Cost
Cristwood Shoreline earns consistent praise for friendly staff, excellent food quality, beautiful grounds, and abundant activities, with multiple residents expressing high satisfaction. However, concerns emerge around cost (described as "very expensive"), older buildings needing modernization, and past issues in memory care including inadequate staffing ratios, staff turnover, and one serious 2018 complaint detailing neglect and hygiene problems in the dementia unit. Independent and assisted living appear well-managed, but families should scrutinize memory care closely.
CRISTA is an amazing community to live and work at!
What an absolutely beautiful experience visiting here. Lovely concierge and great vibes. Thank you 😊
I've lived here for three months and the residents and staff are very friendly. Its been easy to make friends. The food is restaurant quality. There's a cafe with food choices from the dining room kitchen and barista style coffee. The gardens are lovely with a fountain and lots of seating. There are lots of activities, both inside the community and outside. There are vans and buses to take us shopping, as well as on local trips for sightseeing, restaurants, and medical appointments. There are al
Only visited my aunt in 6+floors building. Very nice as independent living apartments. The Cafe was nice with lots of variety. Lots of residents were visiting in numerous areas. Saw a large library and chapel. If could afford would be wonderful place to live.
Cristwood Shoreline is very clean and well maintained. The move in process was easy and seamless for us. I have no recommendations for improvement; keep up the good work. I would commend Cristwood Shoreline to others, but would warn that it is very expensive and that they only serve one meal per day.
Lovely facility and community. The grounds are like an urban park. Many faith based activities, arts and crafts, oppty for physical exercise, music. Perfect spot for your elderly loved ones.
I have just one suggestion for the staff here. The majority of the residents are in assisted living and the staff caters more towards them and kind of leave us in independent living to fend for ourselves. I don't really have a problem with that because I don't mind being alone, but some do take offense to that.
My loved one is a resident at Cristwood Shoreline and everything has been great about the experience, so far. I would recommend this facility to others.
Based on the experience we have had so far, I am confident that the Cristwood Shoreline community is one of the best and certainly the ratio of staff to residents is better than any place else I had checked out.
I would give all categories a 5 stars. They are a very caring facility and everyone has been very helpful. The food is very good and they have a great selection of menu items. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend Cristwood Shoreline to other families.
1. Very nice place to live 2. They clean my room once a month seems to be enough 3. Staff are very friendly and professional 4. I'm in independent living and don't require any additional care. 5. I don't have a food plan with my apartment. 6. Activities are very plentiful and it's nice to be with the other residents here. 7. I think this apartment is a good value for what you get with it. It is small though, about 300 square feet for $[removed] a month.
The Cristwood Shoreline community gets 5 stars across the board, all around it has been good. The community is always clean and well maintained and the people are friendly there. Based on our experience we would recommend them to others.
My wife and I have lived here for over 4 years. We have very friendly and courteous employees and fellow residents who are caring and helpful. Transportation services to medical visits and shopping are very well run and transportation staff are the greatest. We receive generous servings of nutritious meals. Housekeeping service are also excellent.
It is a great place for aged people. There is friendliness and care among all staff and residents that I have experienced in the 11 months I've been here. My apartment is great. And they offer plenty of activities - more than I can do.
My mom was approved for this Nursing home through Medicaid and her pension. We had our mom there for two and a half years. We had some initials problems when she was placed in the dementia unit and another resident (who was walking the halls) walked into my Mom's room and tried touching her breast. My mom was moved to another area. She was ok initially and was looked after her although we kept a close eye on her care, medications, etc. The doctor was never around (maybe once every 6 month -
My father in law moved in 10 months ago. He absolutely loves it here. He has met many new friends and is very active now. No pressure to participate, but always welcomed by all. A great community. Food in the dining hall is excellent.
The staff that gave my loved one and I a tour of there community where very friendly and gave us lots of great information of everything they had to offer. The property was very well maintained and had a lot of great amenities to offer all of the residents. Overall we have no complaints and would recommend this place to anyone.
I thought Cristwood was a nice place. Ther staff were all friendly and gave me a lot of good information. I had a good experience touring, but it did not for my loved one's needs as good as other communities.
After touring the facility I was told that they had to remove themselves from the running as they have a minimum age requirement of 65 for their assisted care facilities. My sister is 62 and on social security and definitely disabled. What do you do if they need assistance?
The friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff and residents is great. It is quiet and not a lot of external noise, nice living conditions. Beautiful grounds and landscaping. The only thing is they are kind of older apartments and could stand some modernization. And it is a long way from the parking lots to the apartments.
Commitment to caring and service obvious. Doug Wood gave knowledgeable advice about industry and useful referrals. Clearly Crista has their clinical and geriatric act together. My folks would be well cared for here. Skilled nursing very busy, no private rooms available at moment. In the memory unit, a staff member was peacefully reading a book to a circle of interested and contented-looking residents. Grounds safe for walking, campus large enough for folks to enjoy stuff leaving. What it la
Beautiful grounds. Memory care area, Popular Pace, has had a lot of staff turn over, seems now there are some steady care givers, and they do their best to care for residents. Ratio is 1:8. Not enough activities to stimulate residents, mostly just sitting in their rooms. Does not seem staff is very trained in Alzheimer's interaction, though they are kind and caring. Management does not understand what is needed in a good memory care program. Had a good activity director for a few months then "p
I am proud to say that I decided to choose Crista as my home, they are so welcoming and everyone is so friendly. Lots of activities to keep the resident busy and accommodate with our needs . The employee is so helpful that they go miles to make sure everything is on your satisfaction. I highly recommend this place than anywhere else.
