Reviews for Merrill Gardens at Auburn
Beautiful Facility, Caring Staff
Merrill Gardens Auburn consistently receives praise for its beautiful, hotel-like facility with bright common areas and tasteful decor, plus exceptionally friendly and caring staff who communicate well with families. Most residents enjoy the food quality and variety of activities, though a minority cite concerns about meal service timing, blandness, and limited physical activities. One serious negative review details a failure to notify family during a medical emergency, and cost is mentioned as a barrier for some families.
We love it here! First thing we noticed when we came to visit was the friendliness of the staff & the residents. Both made us feel so welcome, like a big hug. Still feel that way. It ticked all the important boxes like living space, amenities, etc. There are lots of activities, that you can do if you choose. Free weekly entertainment, outings & so much more! But the big seller was the way everyone treats others with respect, kindness & care.
My father moved into MG Auburn this summer and every person starting with Kelsey and every person we have had contact with have been incredibly helpful, loving and supportive of my dad. We are grateful beyond words for the community that now surrounds him. They are warm and supportive and it gives my siblings and I a lot of comfort to know he is in such a wonderful place. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! Jani Holyan, Jennifer Reedy and Darin Reedy.
One of the first things that is impossible to miss when you walk into this community is people gathering. Friends talking and neighbors connecting. I was warmly greeted by a front desk receptionist (I believe Jackie is her name) and given a tour of this community by the amazing Kelsey. It was warm, it was friendly, it felt like a brand-new community but in the heart of Auburn. I don't think I could have had a better experience. Excited to come back and visit again!
The staff at Merrill Gardens of Auburn are always so efficient, friendly and caring to their staff, visitors and vendors. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in need of loving care.
I don't live there I never have but I live across the street from it. It's a senior apartment building but do not have any unit laundry facilities. You have to go take your clothes down to a laundry room. Not my cup of tea if I can avoid it. They seem okay. I know somebody that moved over there, but have yet gone inside of an apartment. Just going by others telling me what's there and from the outside and looking in. Seems to be ample parking though which a lot of these places don't always have.
We toured several places with mom and she loved the feeling at Merrill Gardens! It’s open, bright, and she loves the tall ceilings. The food is awesome, the staff is incredibly friendly and mom feels safe and secure! Btw…Tasha and Kelsey were great! They were very informative and answered all of our questions.
My mom lives at Merrill Gardens Auburn and loves the community. The apartments are beautiful, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The lobby and dining area is just gorgeous - feels like you are in an upscale hotel. We couldn’t be happier knowing she is living in such a nice environment.
This morning was my first visit to Merrill Gardens and my first impression was of the beauty of the place! It looks like a 5-star hotel. Fall decor was tastefully placed everywhere--so inviting! The garden patio was masterfully landscaped and set up. I saw the care which was taken by the staff as they interacted with residents and visitors. I told the receptionist I wanted to put my husband and myself on the waiting list for our future! I am from California and haven't seen such a majestic res
My dad lives in Merrill gardens and I come here everyday to visit. The front desk and staff are friendly, my dad is very happy here.
I recently visited Merrill Gardens at Auburn, and I was very impressed. The community is beautifully maintained, with bright and welcoming common spaces, and the staff were both professional and kind. It’s clear they put a lot of thought into creating a comfortable, safe, and uplifting environment for residents and families. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kelsey, the director, who was wonderful to work with. She even came to tour my adult family home, and I truly appreciated her support and
The accommodations are wonderful, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Mom is having a great time there.
Merrill gardens was very nice. It was all [name removed] desire to leave. Staff were very accommodating with our particularly difficult and unique situation.
My aunt and uncle have lived at Merrill Gardens, Auburn, for 8 years. Throughout this time, the staff at Merrill Gardens Auburn took excellent care of my aunt and uncle. From the diligent cleaning staff to the food service staff to the activity organizers to the caregivers and nursing staff, everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely engaged with my family. They went out of their way to ensure that my aunt and uncle were safe and well taken care of. Knowing that my aunt and uncle were in
What a beautiful place to bring my sister! She feels like it's living at the Marriott Hotel! The food is great from the in-house chef. We look forward to having her live there for many years.
My grandmother recently moved in to this establishment, the family was a little worried at first for the transition, but staff and the wonderful “family feel” community of other tenants have really made it easy on us! Highly recommend and forever grateful for this amazing place! Thank you all so much for the hospitality and support ❤️
The facility feels comfortable and welcoming with bright and airy common areas. The staff is friendly and helpful. I find apartments well laid out with studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units. Units have washer/dryer, ADA bathroom and shower. The 1 & 2 bedroom have kitchens.
We moved after 6 months to a rental on my son's property. We concluded we were not disabled enough to take full advantage of all the services. The facility was comfortable and quiet. Staff was helpful. The monthly fee at the upper limit of our budget and we really moved because we could meet our needs more economically with a little help from our family.
They are helpful and friendly. One reason I picked this community is because they have a washer and dryer.

The caring, cheerful, skilled and thoughtful staff at Merrill cannot be praised enough! They have helped my aunt and uncle through the pandemic, through physical changes and illnesses and through cognitive changes. The support and extra effort in making my family feel safe, well-cared for and loved is outstanding. Activities are designed with the happiness and enjoyment of the residents in mind. There are several activities for individuals and groups, a concierge service, shopping service, appoi
All homes for the elderly have problems...mainly finding and retaining good employees, including management. Merrill Gardens is not perfect, but is better than the rest overall and that's why I selected it for my friend. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of assisted living.
Merrill Gardens at Auburn is FANTASTIC!! The grading task was incredibly easy - so very happy Mom is in such a wonderful place. I would recommend Merrill Gardens at Auburn to others.
Merrill Gardens is a very clean community and their staff members are great. The meals are ok, it seems to be the same bland items. However at least its by order and not a buffet. There are almost no physical activities. There is only chair aerobics which our loved ones scoffs at. It just seems to lack creativity. I recommend it for a social person with limited physical needs. Meaning. It's in the city and really no place safe to go for a walk.
Sometimes I play piano at this facility. Very nice place to be at. Staff is caring and friendly. Glad to bring some life music.
Merrill GardensAuburn is the cream of the crop in Independent Living and Assisted Living for Seniors. I have lived here one and a half years and I not only love my apartment, I love the community here. Our GM Tasha is always willing to listen and make adjustments. We have the BEST Activity team who make a difference in our lives every single day. We have our Nurse Meghan and her staff of caregivers and we have a kitchen that, after some resident criticism, is now improving our meals and nutritio
My mom has been a resident for 7 years. She started as an independent resident, then "upgraded" to assisted living. This last month we moved her to memory care. I can't say enough great things about the staff and the MG organization. The building is amazing - like a very nice hotel!. They have had very consistent staff over the years - which says much about the organization. From the front desk, to the housekeeper to the chef/servers and the rock star activity director - I know my mom is i
I love living at Merrill Gardens. Once you get past the changes that you are undertaking by choosing to live in an independent living community, you couldn't be in a better place than Merrill Gardens Auburn. The building is beautiful and safe, the staff is very intuned to the residents needs. We have so many activities to choose from daily, due to our activity director. The General Manager is always available and willing to listen to you. A registered nurse is available along with care giving s
Great facility, very attentive people. Super nice and high end apartments.
I’ve lived here about two years. The building is modern and comfortable but there are many problems with dining and maintence. You wait a long time for most repairs. With dining, the food has steadily gone downhill in quality since Chef Susan arrived and we get the same old menu choices over and over again week after week. The kitchen routinely runs out of basic menu staples: pancake batter, white bread, ice cream, creamer, yogurt, fish and chips - even Decaf Coffee grounds! There’s constant

I would recommend them for their loved ones as long as the cost is not prohibitive. The facility is very nice, great care and lots of activities and services for the residents are available. I picked this community because of the well maintained facility and focus on the health and safety of the residents. The location from my home is very convenient. The staff have been wonderful and very communicative with us. They are great at keeping Mom busy with games, conversation, and special outings. S
I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I was the POA of the person who stayed there. He had a stroke They never contacted me. I got contacted by the hospital very [removed]. He ended up dying in the hospital. I probably should have got a lawyer to deal with this, but it was too hard on me.
Satisfactory to excellent. We picked this community because of the availability and location near family were deciding factors.
Lovely
I wanted to take a moment and write a review about 2 amazing staff at Merrill Gardens. Annette Chmielinski the accountant has been so helpful to me accounting for my dad and expenditures. Walking me through costs, sending me needed documents and just overall engaging with her is an absolute pleasure. My last visit with my dad I had the opportunity to spend some time just getting to know her and I am glad she is there looking out for the quality of living and accounting for what is spent. Nex
My loved one is currently a resident at Merrill Gardens at Auburn. The staff is incredibly helpful, super nice and very knowledgeable. The logistics were well coordinated for the move in process. I recommend bringing an extra hand truck. All of the hallways are wide. Communication with the family is excellent! The staff is very proactive and responsive. The entire staff is over the top nice. The food is fantastic; fine dining. The chef does a wonderful job with the menu and there's many options
What we like the most about the Merrill Gardens at Auburn is the staff, they are very nice and professional. The residents living there seem happy which helps her during the adjustment period. The community is also very clean!
I would like to give a review on Kayla Ferguson. I was so dragging my feet to be a residence here and after 2 months now of living here I have to say SHE was RIGHT!!! It is so friendly place to live. Kayla was so accommodating to make sure all our wishes came true. I just wasn't buying it. She was so patience and kind and bent over backwards to make our wishes come true. My husband was all for the Adult Living aspect. But ME was a different story. One day my husband and I came back to lo
This is a wonderful community for our loved one. Our family is pleased with the care our loved one is receiving from the caring staff. The communication with the staff has been wonderful. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and they have choices for the residents to choose from. Overall, this is a community I would recommend to friends for their loved ones.
I toured this facility, it was wonderful! Had my loved one's care needs not have changed, we would have definitely moved her into this facility.
Something incredible is happening in the memory care unit (The Garden House) at Merrill Gardens in Auburn. As a visiting nurse, I travel to a variety of home environments and each one is unique. The Garden House at Merrill Gardens offers clean, spacious rooms with personalized care, but the kindness and care provided by the caregivers is something to be studied. The feeling of the unit itself is calm but full of life- a difficult balance to achieve in the memory care setting. The Garden House Di
My mother moved to Merrill Gardens six months ago. I could not be more grateful for this beautiful facility full of caring staff and residents, nestled in the middle of the rejuvenated core of downtown Auburn. Kayla was a godsend, offering us a tour, lunch and a gentle, no-pressure approach to considering the joys and benefits of independent living with additional options available as needed. Mom enjoys numerous opportunities for social interaction and a spacious apartment flooded with natu
When looking for a place for mom, I visited many locations in South King county. Merrill Gardens at Auburn was clearly a notch above with a very competitive price point. From the moment we walked in, the setting, the staff, the residents, we knew we were home. The setting promotes an active community and high quality of everyday life. The staff is clearly devoted, caring and professional - striving to work with people individually allowing residents to age in place with dignity. Merrill Gardens
My dad moved into assisted living at Merrill Gardens (Auburn) 9 months ago and we couldn't be more pleased. The staff is wonderful, the events & activities are so fun, the food is great and the overall care is loving. We see our dad busy living, getting to build wonderful friendships with other residents, and able to be supported in his independence.
My dad has lived here for a year and a half. We are very happy with the accommodations and the staff. There is very little turnover. He has a spacious studio, lots of natural light, with both heat and air conditioning in his individual unit. The food is really good. He loves to sit at the counter and talk to the servers. The care staff are conscientious and helpful. Management has been very good to work with, especially in developing a care plan. The nurse Meghan is on top of all of my dad's med
The meals seem to be the only area lacking. Our mother feels they over salt most things. She is enjoying most aspects considering she did not want to go to assisted living. The staff is outstanding and the facility is well appointed
Our family had a wonderful experience at Merrill Gardens at Auburn. From the resident admissions process, to their care for our family member as one of the residents in their community, and the coordination with their business office and staff . . . All met or exceeded expectations! Thank you Merrill Gardens !!
Although, we never got to move in, due to health extenuating circumstances, I give Merrill high marks. Preparing to move in, having the help that we needed to make decisions and learn the process, was absolutely first rate!! Ardeana and her team held our virtual hands the whole way, despite the fact that we were out of the country at the time! I felt I was already at home. We knew Merrill's is high quality. And this latest experience only proved it.
Kayla recently gave us a tour of Merrill Gardens Auburn. She was extremely responsive and organized our visit on short notice. We're new to assisted living and Kayla gave us a great overview of the various stages and the process to get my parents moving toward an eventual move. Highly recommend talking to her and the Merrill community. Thanks Kayla!
Good community, too far from family.
We are not yet moved in, but our experience so far has been wonderful.
We are very happy with Merrill Gardens. It is not a depressing environment, it is more bright and cheery. We have had other experiences with facilities where it is depressing right when you walk in the door. When we walk in the door here, there is a lot of things happening and just feels more positive. I would recommend to other families.
Merrill Gardens staff have been wonderful with helping my mom transition into her new home. They have been super helpful, responsive and encouraging throughout the process. It has been a huge help and a real strength of their community.
My parents were at Merrill Gardens and we had to move them out poor housekeeping, the dining room service is SLOW takes no less than an hour after order is placed and takes about that long to place an order. The management is very slow to react.
Beautiful senior living home. Its clean and welcoming
I first contacted Merrill Gardens at Auburn in June as I was looking for assisted living for my mother. I live out of state and was concerned about finding the right place for her. I spoke with Ardeana and she was so very helpful in her information of Merrill Gardens. Ardeana addressed all my questions and concerns as well as my mother's concerns at the time of her appointment to look further into Merrill Gardens. Ardeana was so very caring and engaged and was such a wonderful resource throu
I have been talking through havingemail and face-to-face conversation with Ardeana for over a year. I was looking a place for my wife. Ardeana is gracious, passionate to help, full of knowledge in her field and has many attributes that makes her a "TRUE AND COMPLETE HUMAN BEING". May God bless her and bless Merrill Garden for having such a stellar staff in its company.
Very helpful staff. Gave me resources I needed after spending a morning calling around! THANK YOU!

My mom
Staff and residents are quite friendly. The facility is new and well designed. Meals are a bit of a problem. From the time you sit down it can sometimes take up to 2 hours to get a meal. Often the food is cold to boot. Not exactly the “gourmet meals” they promote. My mother has basically given up on regular meals at the dining area. She subsists instead on sandwiches and breakfast cereal. Disappointing to us because that was one of the primary reasons to move to assisted living.
I ended up picking this facility for my loved one because it’s a new facility and she would be close to me. In the beginning, there were a few small problems but those have been corrected. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. I am very happy that I placed my loved one here. The food here is excellent and they serve a variety of things like prime rib, stew, and BBQ. I would recommend this facility to other families.

My parents have been living there for over six months. The accommodations are lovely, clean, well appointed. Someone comes to clean their apartment weekly. They offer free transportation to the grocery store, pharmacy, and doctor's office. Plus, there are scheduled "fun" outings, as well as nightly movies in the on-site theater, and a variety of other planned activities for residents. There is a handyman on staff, friendly and very helpful. All of the staff are wonderful, as are the residents.
Merrill Gardens at Auburn is a nice and clean facility. The staff is very friendly and attentive to my mom's needs. She likes the food that they offer. They do offer activities that my mom likes and participates in, such as Bingo and she enjoys the singing. They have a nice courtyard there for them to be able to sit or walk around and enjoy the outdoors. I feel she is in a safe and secure environment.
Each personnel member I spoke with was polite, cooperative, knowledgeable, making my visit a very pleasant experience. Thanks you!
We toured the beautiful community and was very happy with the cleanliness. The staff were very nice and were able to answer the questions on the care that is offered. We liked the dining area and the menu of the meals with healthy choices. The activities are offered to those who want to participate. We really like the community for my father but the cost was higher than expected. We do recommend this beautiful community to other families.
When my mom was apart of this community she had good care and she enjoyed her stay very much. It is a brand new faculty and doe not have their AL license yet. In April they will have their license for AL. With that in mind they were limited in what they could provide. However they had an outside agency help with the care for the residents. It was a good experience even though it was limited.
My dad just moved in. He loves it, he already calls Merrill Gardens his home. His absolute favorite thing is his walk in shower! Falling has been such a big concern for him. He loves the food and everyone is nice!! His apartment is just lovely.
When I toured the Merrill Gardens at Auburn, I noticed that the place was very nice and so were the people. When I got there for my tour, the tour guide was on time and had a lot of information for me. The place was a good choice, but we picked another community that we thought would for my mother's needs better.
This looked like a nice community when I visited. This community is in a busy area, however I was looking for something a little quieter. The people I met were nice.
