Reviews for Normandy Park Assisted Living
Improving Under New Ownership
Normandy Park shows stark improvement under new ownership (2024-2025), with recent reviews praising caring staff, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. However, historical reviews (2013-2022) reveal persistent problems: severe staffing shortages causing communication breakdowns and slow emergency response times, consistently poor food quality, high staff turnover particularly in kitchen and activities, and one disturbing report of filth and forged signatures. Recent positive momentum appears genuine but families should verify sustained improvements given the facility's troubled operational history.
My Mom has been a resident here for over 3 years now. The team here is what sets it apart. The peaple here are kind, caring and most of all, friends. I highly recommend Normandy Park Senior Living.
This is a little gem of a community in the heart of Normandy Park. They are under new ownership, and I can’t say enough positive things about them! The care team and new Executive Director are amazing! They give 100% and you will feel it the second you walk through the door. I highly recommend stopping in for a tour. 💕
Very exciting this community is under new mangement! They were able to accomodate our clients need to tour on a weekend with short notice. The on going updates look great. Excited for Spring and all the wonderful plans they have for this Senior Living Community.
Very respectful, clean, and organized senior facility. I think the best thing about Normandy Park senior living is that they prioritize treating their residents well by working hard every day to ensure a comfortable, friendly, and fulfilling living experience. Would definitely recommend as it's a great place for a loved one.
Normandy Park Senior Living has dedicated staff who take pride in the services they provide to the residents. There have been significant changes in company and facility management which have made the overall environment for staff and residents alike, a lot more welcoming and pleasant. I recommend a visit to those seeking a home for senior loved ones where they can enjoy fun daily activities, three great meals a day, and exceptional care service.

I am so excited for the future of Normandy Park! It’s a beautiful building with such sweet residents and everyone on the Nightingale Health Care team (new ownership) is amazing! You can tell everyone on the staff team really cares about the residents well-being and satisfaction. I recommend a visit.
General comments: staff is personable and usually does a well either the clients. Personal staff communicates well. Some Office staff very hard to get ahold of if you need something or have a question. You usually need to just hunt them down. Activities are good, wish they were more often. Site and rooms always clean. Price is standard for this type of care.
The sales people present the place as much better than it is. They even signed my name on a financial agreement. At the time we left there that were charging as much as [community removed]. I have pictures of the filth in my husband's room before we moved him. It was bad. I recommend you stay away from Normandy Park.
Staff can be very rude and unprofessional. Had doctor appointment for mother at 9 but doors were locked and no one at from desk and no one answered doorbell. Got severely criticized by staff for taking wrong walker.
I live here and I love being here ! The food is great, the staff are very kind and I always do fun activities. My grandsons love to visit with me here it is very family oriented. It's clean and I feel safe here. I highly recommend Normandy park it's a great place to be !
My mom moved into Normandy Park Senior Living a few months back and it has been the greatest gift for her! She is involved in all the activities and looks forward to all of the outings and experiences that she is making with her new friends. The care staff have just made her feel so empowered and willing to participate in her own health, that is something that she has never done before! The executive director has been a joy to work with she is always available for anything I have needed in this
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible care provided at Normandy Park assisted living. The staff truly goes above and beyond to create a warm, supportive environment for residents. It's a wonderful place where compassion and dignity are at the forefront. Thank you for making such a positive impact in the lives of those you care for!
Normandy Park always puts the resident's first. The staff all genuinely care about them. The food is fantastic and they always have the greatest activities going on ! I would 10/10 recommend this community for your loved one! Great experiences and memories made here!

We chose Normandy Park for the staff and their friendliness and commitment to the residents. The only reason for the lower ratings is that they seem to be short staffed since my dad entered the home. Everyone works hard, but sometimes communication falls through.
Assisted living isn't easy, but the staff really cares.
This Nursing home is probably the most ridiculous nursing home I’ve ever been in . There is mouse traps in the break room, BED BUGS in residents rooms. Awful Communication, HR and Office Staff doesn't answer, Cooks don't wash hands, Wrongful TERMINATION. I don’t recommend at all.
Nobody ever answers the phone! Rude management that fires employees for no reason. H.R is never to be found and managers are never available. Very disappointed on how this place is run; especially for all the seniors. This place needs to changed asap cuz this is not a place you want your family to be.
It was a good experience overall. They seemed more homey & caring than the other facilities as well as being a bit smaller & less overwhelming for my Dad.They are currently experiencing a lot of turnover, especially with the kitchen staff. I'm sure this is an industry issue, but it has affected the quality of meals they are currently receiving.
Mom was well taken care of. We are very thankful that your people were able to make her last days comfortable. For the most part, everything was clean. I was disappointed to find the brand new sheets I'd ordered for her stuffed into the closet and she was still on the same ones, which were left on the bed after she died and smelled like pee. We were also very disappointed to find that Mom had COVID when we visited the last time (late August), and no one bothered to mention it! Luckily none of th
The people that work at Normandy Park Senior Living truly care about the people living there and their wellbeing. They treat the residents with kindness, compassion and friendliness. Normandy Park is a facility that I would absolutely recommend to anybody who is looking for care for their loved ones.
We had a tour with Normandy Park Assisted Living. It was a really great tour, but unfortunately it was not in a location that we could manage.
The friendliness of staff is a tough one because the staff turn over is so high it's hard to make bonds with the staff. I guess I would say overall okay depending on who it is. However the food is TERRIBLE! For the amount of money that my parents pay to stay there, the food is low quality and just not good. Turnover with the cooks has also been a problem. Again, turnover of activities director/coordinator has been a problem. Limited actives. Activity room is too small for a large amount of resid
While our loved one a resident there, they were secluded. She ate by herself, there were not activities, they did not have staff there and they staff they did have were rude and not friendly. We would not recommend this community. Our loved one would spit out the food because it was so bad. We would also have to walk around the entire community to hunt down the staff if we needed something and it was really expensive.
Our family had an in person tour and it was a good overall tour experience but location was very important to us so ultimately this community was not going to be suitable for our loved one.
He is getting very good care here, they are just wonderful and by far the best that I have seen. The food seems very good and the snacks that they provide are varied. The staff are great with communication and they keep me well informed if there are any questions or concerns. The set up is really nice for the residents and they are able to interact with each other. This is the only facility that I have seen that I would recommend to others.
This is a great community with very nice staff. They have a nice environment. The food is good. The location is close to friends and family. There is a hospital a few blocks away along with a pharmacy. They have lots of parking available.
It's a secure community where you sign in and out. They really put a good effort in with activities, even considering Covid. They still do exercises, bingo, a community walk, anything they can do with social distancing. When my loved one had an injury and couldn't participate in activities, the director spent several half hour sessions with her visiting and talking with her. I know she must be very busy, so I really appreciated her taking the time out of her day for my loved one. The rest o
Recently, the director has given her resignation. She hasn't said why, but I suspect it's because of management of the facility, because there's been a shortage of staff. Staff have actually mentioned that they're working overtime several days a week because there isn't enough help. Some meals that are delivered to the rooms are being missed. The response time to the pull cord calls after about 5:30 in the evening throughout the night is a horrible turn-around time. In my opinion, that shou
The staff members have been great, and for the most part our loved one is very happy there. Everything so far has been good, and we are having a good experience with the nursing staff especially during the pandemic. The food could use some improvement, but the value for cost is manageable.
During the time our loved one was there the activities were pretty much shut down due to the restrictions. We did think the value for cost was really good and the administrative staff was very helpful and did a great job navigating through the covid pandemic.
We chose Normandy Park Senior Living because of recommendations, the location, and it just felt clean and pleasant when you walk in. The room sizes here are adequate, plenty for his needs. I have eaten here and the food was fine, they do have a menu with variety. I would recommend and we have been very grateful to have my dad here during the pandemic.
After visiting Normandy Park I will say it seems like a very clean and updated community. I can't say anything about the service yet but the person I was on the phone with was very nice and helpful.
It is a very nice place to live. It is a great location, it is close, within walking distance, to restaurants, shopping and other amenities. They also have a bus to take you places. The food is fine, not wonderful but it is okay. They have a nice area out back with a fountain for residents to use. They keep the outside well manicured, plenty of places to walk a pet. They do try to accommodate resident requests.
Don’t be fooled by the appearance sure it looks nice but the service is absolutely ridiculous. Definitely not a place you want to trust with your love ones
beautiful location and facility. Very open, airy and cheerful.
Looks like a nice place to live. I would like to see more excercise equipment in more of a gym environment. [Name removed] is very engaged and caring. We will definitely consider Solstice for our mother.
Very nice and clean. Friendly staff.

There didn’t seem to be many people around when we took our tour. The residents that we did see were in the lobby, not talking, and it seemed like they were just parked there. However, we found out it was so empty because they had taken most of the residents to a Mariners game. The staff was very, very nice and the landscaping outside was wonderful. The inside was clean and the rooms they showed us were actually really nice too. They were studios but they were really big and bright. It was defin
Normandy Park Assisted Living is a very clean safe environment for the elderly. My 91yr old grandma moved there and the staff has been very kind and accommodating. The move in process was very quick and easy thanks to Adriana. The resident Nurse was and is very professional and advocates for the patients including my grandma.
When I needed options for my dad we had looked at this community and really liked it but based on his care level needs at the time I didn't think this would be a good fit. But now this is the perfect place for my mom and her care level needs. She enjoys being here. The staff is very helpful and patient. They encourage the residents to attend different things that may be going on but they don't pressure the residents. They have medical staff on site. The food seems to be to my moms liking no compl
When you enter the staff welcomes you in a pleasant and friendly manner. The community appeared to be clean and well maintained. We didn't have a meal here but I did look at a menu and it seemed to offer a variety of foods most of it appeared to be on the softer side. The staff seemed friendly and looked well groomed and professional. The location was good only a short drive from my home.
This is in regards to the memory care facility. We were assured that this is the last place my grandfather would ever have to go and were told not to worry they would take great care of him. For nearly $7,000 a month one would expect great care from a facility. My grandfather suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia. On 3 occasions we went to visit him at mealtime and noticed he wasn't eating. We didn't think anything of it the first time but the second time he was very lethargic and drugged up. He
This place is terrible
This is wonderful for care. The staff was outstanding and friendly. They offered me a beverage. The cleanliness is outstanding. We liked the environment. Families would like the menu of the meals and the activities that are offered to the residents. We would recommend the care and the value for a loved one.
My mother moved here and things are going well. They meet her care needs and we are happy with this choice.
just okay. didn't seem compassionate. Seemed more about the business than the person.
Everything is going very well for my grandmother. She has adjusted very well to the community. They are caring for her very well. I am pleased with everything they have done for us. They offer nice activities and good food. Overall I would recommend it.
Smaller facility which I liked, very convenient location. Newer building but there were cooking odors. Staff seemed friendly, couldn't tell about the residents. Did not appear to be very diverse.
Our experience with Normany Park assisted living has been a good one so far. I don't get the chance to visit often as I live out of state, but I have heard good things from my family members. I do really appreciate that they communicate openly and frequently about the status of your loved one.
My father passed away recently and we were looking for a good assisted living community for our mother. We contacted "A Place for Mom" and instantly we received a phone call from an advisor. She was very helpful and gave us 3 places to start with and recommended we look at Normandy Park Senior Living on 1st Avenue. She has heard very good things about it. We took mom there for a tour and she loved it. Everyone was so friendly. It was really clean and the halls were really wide. The Director at N
Very light and bright. Safety rails line both sides of the halls but look like decorative molding. All the bars in the bathrooms are also grab bars. There were no noticeable odors. Memory care is available if the need should arise. Friendly staff and residents. Jill is very knowledgeable about the facility and senior housing. She answered all of our questions and invited us to call anytime if we have more. Plenty of activity for participation. The facility itself is a nice manageable size. Not o
Normandy Park Assisted Living was very helpful in getting my mother into a safe and nuturing environment after leaving a rehab facility and was no longer able to live indepedently. They worked with the family and made a placement for my mom immediately with the least amount of hassles. They were very helpful.
We had the same first impression as the previous reviewer, and actually did place our loved one there for awhile. Everything seemed great when the resident doesn't really need their "assistance" Very much. Then everything changes and they just want to get rid of the problem. I think it stems from the top. The director there seemingly just wants to deal with any issues by making them go away - as in telling the resident/family they should leave. We were also not impressed with the care superv
The staff here was just awesome. The rooms and the hallways were very large and the most space for the buck of all the spaces I have seen. The grounds are really nice and I was excited to see a nice number of male staff. I think that would be helpful for my Dad. This choice is at the top of my list.
