I have been here for 8 months in this time period I have had nothing but stress. I came from e wa thinking I was going to get care but, sadly I didn’t. And, I was misled by director. The director is a bully to residents and it is a very hostile environment where it should be peaceful and caring and happy to live here - it is not. Definitely would recommend to others. Everyone there is so helpful. Especially [name removed] she has helped us and guided us through everything. My mother-in-law is not easy to deal with but they are breaking through her shell. She is seeming to like it there now.

We had the best experience here. We are so excited to have our Mom be placed in this facility. The people here are so friendly and helpful. Everyone seems so happy to be there and work here. The accessibility is very good for our mom in the rooms. We give them five stars.

Oh gosh, leaving a bad review of a company is so against my nature but I need to make sure no one else is scammed and mistreated the way we were and I wish we could have had forewarning. The meals and dining gets a 3 based on parents feedback and the activities gets an na as parents not participating yet. We appreciate that there are trained people to help them at all times. Mom has mentioned some delays in response time. But she recognizes that the caretakers are helping a lot of people and can't be a multi places

The only snafu that we had at Brookdale Federal Way was that the key that my mother had didn't work for her apartment; otherwise, moving her in was easy. My grandmother lived here a few years ago and the experience was horrible to say the least. My mom spent over two years here. She paid for shower assistance twice a week and meds management. She had severe short-term memory loss and was legally blind. Although kind, Brookdale staff, with a few exceptions, don't treat residents as unique individuals. They often don't read menus to blind residents. They skip showers for residents with memory loss who don't want one "right now", although the resident doesn't understand that their next chance won't be for 3-4 days. They often don't notice

Slow response to calls for help. They have too many residents compared to staff. The director, John, (I don't know if he is still there) played dodgeball any time families called him.

Brookdale Federal Way was a wonderful facility. I thought it was excellent. My wife immediately took to all the people there. They were nice to her. The people that were of her age were very nice to her when we went into the facility. She wanted to stay, and she didn't want to go. I was very impressed. They showed me a room and it was very nice. The rooms were nice. They had a refrigerator and a microwave. And I think we could bring in a TV if we wanted something. But the rooms were fine.

Brookdale Federal Way was a lovely place. We were astonished at how clean and nice it was. They tried hard to get my brother to fit in, but it was just too much. They were very nice. The gal we were supposed to meet forgot about our appointment, so the young gal that helped us take the tour was amazing. She was energetic, happy person, and answered all our questions. The rooms were nice and clean. It just seemed peaceful.

My loved one was a resident at Brookdale Federal Way for almost a year. The staff was very friendly, but the management with follow-through was terrible. I would not recommend this place for someone who needs to be checked up on frequently.

My MIL just asked for a week to be tested for COVID it took her seeing her weekly therapist to actually get it done after she spent time w8th all the residents when she was most contagious. I'm also wondering why they refuse to accommodate seniors for their diets. She was a good 150 pounds 6 months ago now she's under 100. This place looked to be a haven of calm and serenity.but I did see a few flaws in the courtyard rooms. The residents were apparently happy and ambulatory.. however all that glitters is not gold. Big John the maintenance man was very knowledgeable of his craft. I am planning to move to Brooksd ale soon. The recent cuts in budget due to many vacant rooms reflects in most departments caused residents to experience serious declining quality of from the facility. We have been in lockdown for weeks as 8 residents tested positive for COVID-19. Apparently the CDC requires us to stay in our rooms . I toured Brookdale Federal Way. I thought it was really good. The lady that showed us around was really, really helpful. I think it was well-managed. They had a lot of organized activities and things for people to do. They had an activity room. They had a kitchen where you could go cook for yourself, if you wanted to. I went to Brookdale Federal Way. The layout was very standard. It was hallways with individual rooms. I was looking specifically at some assisted living place and we did look at a studio. It was open and blank, you supply everything, but they supply the food and then whatever extra things you need. The only thing was he had an open shower, but I was concerned. I guess you have to supply any extra support things you might need, like a shower seat, and there was a step over into the shower. I was

I felt that the staff was very caring during our experience here. The facility itself was a little older, but once we got in it did not bother us at all. The room sizes are very big and the facility overall was great. I would recommend Brookdale Federal Way to others looking.

Everyone is very friendly. The place could use a little updating. I think that my aunt is treated very nicely there.

The staff there is amazing. They take so good care of my mom. We were sad when mom had to be in a rehab. But the good news is she so much better and she gets to return back to Brookdale. Steve the director truly cares for his patience and staff. We are so blessed that we are able to have mom in a safe environment with people who cares.

My mother moved into Brookdale Federal Way, and she has adjusted really well. She said the people are super nice to her. It's been good. They gave her a calendar of activities that are happening right now, but because she has just moved in, she still has two more days of self-quarantine. I know they have an activity room and a TV room, and typically when there is no pandemic, they do card games, bingo twice a week, gardening, and several other activities.

My 102-year-old mother is still alive and well at Brookdale, thanks to the heroic efforts of Executive Director Steve Wickline and his incredible, caring staff during this terrible year. Brookdale Federal Way looked very good and the room I saw looked fine. The person who accommodated me during my visit was very good, helpful, and friendly. There was an exercise class there. I got a look inside their dining area and it looked fine. It was typical.

Brookdale Federal Way is a wonderful place and I will forever be grateful for the all the help they gave my mother. They have many caring people who go out of their way to assist people in need. It's a job most of us would run away from, but somehow they have they have managed to pull in some really wonderful caretakers.

Took a tour on Sat. the 29th and they were already full. My perception was that it would not of been a good fit anyway. It was small, old and felt like a nursing home. They were friendly and everyone looked well taken care of.

I love it here at Brookdale Federal Way. It is like one big family. There are lots of activities to choose from. And the staff makes you feel right at home. It is such a relief to have help with daily needs I had difficulty doing myself. At first I had not decided if I was going to stay long term but now after eight months I’m sold and I will be staying for the foreseeable future.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and so far everything is going great for her. She has made a smooth transition and is comfortable in her new living environment. She has had no complaints about the food and enjoys the activities from time to time. I would have to say my favorite thing about the facility is the fact that the staff are responsive and very good at communicating with the family.

I was not impressed with this community when we visited. The outside did not seem to be kept up. The residents seemed to be unhappy and this did not seem like an active community. The staff we met did not seem professional.

My relative lives here. Since she moved in, I have observed that the food quality has gone downhill. The review about management being poor is "spot on". Promises are made, but seldom kept. Resident input is given lip service at best.

While the staff is friendly and kind, there are not nearly enough people to care for the residents. Management is awful. Liars and not honest. Do not send a loved one here. You have been warned. Trust me. You will be sorry.

Brookdale Federal Way was very nice. We enjoyed the people there. Unfortunately, they didn’t have many rooms with a bedroom -- most of them were studio size, and that wasn’t going to work at all for a married couple. I think there were only two apartments that had a bedroom separate. and they were occupied. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed looking at the cottages at Brookdale Federal Way because they are very nice. The grounds were nice too. The staff was very accommodating during our visit. We had lunch there, and the food, as well as their service, was very nice.

My Dad is a new resident (2 weeks) at Brookdale. So far, so good. The residents are friendly, the place is clean, I feel the staff is competent. I can not say enough good things about one particular staff member named CARLOS. This guy makes all the residents happy with his bright cheery demeanor. It was Carlos' positive attitude that prompted me to write this. Brookdale is lucky to have such a ray of sunshine, give this kid a raise!

I was at Emeritus Federal Way before. The food was not too good because there was no diet, and everybody was getting old and weak. The surrounding was alright because they had somebody come in and clean the place every week, so it was clean all the time. They need to improve the food. Once in a while, we went out for lunch. We had music on Fridays, and the music was good for the residents.

I did visit Emeritus at Federal Way, and it’s a very nice community. It’s very clean and well maintained. Their apartments are very nice and very big as well. Overall, the atmosphere is very nice.

Great place. May be an older building, but they maintain it and super caring, friendly staff-all of them! Residents are great also. I appreciate what they did for my mother.

I did go to Emeritus at Federal Way, and they didn’t have memory care. The only thing I didn’t like was it’s an older building, so the rooms weren’t as nice as the other facility I went to, but the staff was top notch; everyone seemed really friendly and open, and the residents all seemed really friendly.

The rooms at Emeritus were pretty nice. I enjoyed the place. They had exercise room and gathering room. The staff was pretty nice.

Me and my mom had a short visit at Emeritus at Federal Way. The staff was fine and the facility is cost effective. I guess one thing good about this facility is that if she needed further care we don't have to move her to another facility.

We visited Emeritus and felt okay. It seemed homey enough. The residents were enjoying games in the common room as we walked through. However, the VA was in Seattle and driving to Seattle to make doctor's appoint for my brother was a discouraging idea. They don't provide transportation and it would be very inconvenient for me.

The staff at Emeritus at Federal Way were nice. The facility was quite, clean, and very nice. The rooms are a lot nicer. They had a walking area outdoors. I would recommend this one.

This facility did not meet our needs, it is assisted living and we need independent living at this time. It was a tad shabby and depressing to be honest. Lynn was charming and informative.

This was my third visit to this facility and each time I have visited, I have come away feeling more and more impressed. The home has a lovely, warm atmosphere and the residents are obviously well-cared for. Most important, my mother feels this is a good fit for her.
