It really is a good place, very well run, with caring, hard-working employees and friendly residents who go out of their way to be kind and supportive. The number and diversity of activities and outings are fabulous. My mom has now been there two years and is happily planning to stay.

We have been residents for over a year now and University House is living up to all our expectations. As with others we were a little skeptical at first about giving up our house and going into this type of facility but let us tell you: Being served meals at the restaurant daily, having our apartment cleaned, bedding and linens changed, planned activities and trips on a daily basis, entertainment and lectures at the facility and making new friends makes us feel we should have done this sooner.

The amenities here are excellent ie weekly presentations and other. Very pleased with the Wellness center and their care of [name removed]. The food has slipped from when we first came. Soup is really good but some of specials are lacking

Some months the activity schedule is lacking but they do a lot of fun things - trips to restaurants, theater. I am thrilled with the decision to move my mom to University House. The staff is fabulous, the front desk is staffed 24/7, I love that they integrate the assisted and independent residents — it brings energy to the environment. We toured University House Issaquah. First of all, when you walk in, the entrance with two enclosed glassware was just incredible, so it's a nice, open, welcoming reception area, and I really liked their rooms better than any. The staff was very thorough and knowledgeable, and very nice and welcoming.

The place felt warm and bright. I went to two other facilities and one was cold and uninviting and the other was dark and had a very low ceiling. University has an inviting entry and felt cozy. In addition the people at University were clear with the rules but accommodating where they could be. Overall, it just felt better.

Dad has been at University House for 18 months now. I am so happy with his transition and this is due to caring, attentive & wonderful staff. We had lunch at University House Issaquah during our tour, which was wonderful. We worked with Dionne who was also wonderful. They had a beautiful workout room, a pool, and incredible art and they had speakers. We loved it. The food that we had there was excellent. UH management is pleasant and quick to respond. They has done an excellent job with their Covid risk mitigation plan. Featured meals and overall food quality used to be exceptional. Every single employee at University house has made it the best it could possibly be from our tour, to getting her situated, to providing the best activities and always making sure everyone feels valued there, university house is one-of-a-kind and I am a huge fan! My friend moved into the University House Issaquah, and so far it has been great. They've been very helpful with the move in. It is a bummer that it is COVID right now and she is pretty isolated, but that is no fault of anybody else. She has a full apartment with two bedrooms, a den, full kitchen, and two baths. They also have options of two bedrooms or one bedroom for their apartments. So far, the food tastes good.

I rated cleanliness only a 4 star only because of a large center piece of furniture that is in the lobby in front of the entrance smells like an old attic. My mom is in University House Issaqua. The staff is very nice, and she seems to be getting the care that she needs. They have little outings that they can participate in. She goes to exercise class and walks around the building. They go on outings if they want to in a van, and they go shopping. They serve 3 meals a day. There are laundry services, and they can do their own laundry. There is an exercise room and a hair facility, and they do crafts.

If I were going to move into something right now, I’d probably move into the University House in Issaquah. I liked the way it was laid out. Very impressed. Certainly not an inexpensive option, but our tour, led by Liz Murray was splendid and we could have checked in then! We felt welcome, and that the staff made extra effort to make us at home. Having lunch with Dottie, one of the Ambassadors was a highlight. University House Issaquah was not as expensive as the other places and a high rise of at least three stories. They had a lot of activities. I only spoke with one person, and she was very helpful. If you had to go from independent living to assisted living, you didn't have to move to a different apartment. You could stay in the same apartment and just get the extra services, and I thought that was nice. Their rooms were quite nice, large, and had a newer style.

Since moving into University House my mother in law enjoys the movies and performances they offer. The staff are nice and helpful. She let me know that no one complains about the food. I would recommend this community however keep in mind it is between 2 busy roads.

I'm just ending my fourth week and am very much pleased with the experience. All the staff are friendly and most accommodating at all times. I have met many of the residents and participated in several of the many activities. It is a very comfortable atmosphere, and I am very satisfied that I am in the right place.

When you walk into the facility, there Is always a nice pleasant atmosphere. The front desk associates and the maintenance man are very friendly. My mother has not been there very long,(close to a month) and is still getting adjusted to the facility. She has been to the exercise class a few times and seems to enjoy that. There is a young man in the dining facility that is very nice, but my mother has mentioned that the service is slow and the food is not hot enough.

I cannot say enough about the great job that is done by all of the staff, and the attention and care that we residents receive. Special kudos to Grant and his kitchen staff for their inventive, nourishing and very well prepared meals. the young servers, the general supporting staff and certainly the professional management give excellent hands on care. University House offers a pleasant, friendly atmosphere where a couple can do as much or as little as one wishes. My most recent career was as an attorney for 35 years. My Corgie dog and I are pleased with the friendly support we receive. Highly recommended by both of us and my late wife of 63 years who passes away here 4 years ago.

Generally consistently very good level of care and services. Once in a while something is not done right the first time or service is slow, but you try to rectify these things. Staff are extremely friendly, approachable and responsive (front-line staff). We'd love to see you change how you answer the phone -- it's very long. What about "U-House, may I help you?" and leave it at that!

We moved my mom in after my dad died. It has been such a wonderful transition for her. she loves the apartment she lives in and enjoys the food a great deal. It gives us peace knowing that the University House has great care for my mother. After almost two years my mom is very happy!

Like other reviewers, my experience with the staff was all positive when they were trying to make the sale, far less so once our mom was in residence. Everyone is very friendly but they never follow through. When we moved in there were no light bulbs the bedroom or closet fixtures. After several weeks, my sister gave up asking the staff and put them in herself. Given that the daily cost is equivalent to a hotel, the service is fair, at best. There is a fairly high turnover rate among the staff. Management seems to place a higher priority on the bottom line than they do the compassionate care of residents. There has been no status updates/communication from staff as to how loved ones are doing. Priority seems to be more on bringing in new residents rather than keeping ones already there.

Prior to choosing this facility for my parent I received lots of helpful friendly contact from the staff. Once I gave them the deposit and first months rent all contact stopped. It's been over 6 months now and there has been no follow-up from a single staff member asking how things are going for my parent there. My other complaint is the dining room. If you want to have a meal with your loved one alone, you must make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, you will be seated with other residents

Yes the price is on the high side but we moved mom in after receiving promises of great nursing care, supportive staff and accommodating personnel. The staff is extremely friendly and they know all the residents by name. The community is very clean. It seems like the staff members really care about their community and the residents. There are always residents moving around within the community, playing cards, reading the paper or just talking. The atmosphere is just a lot better then the other communities we toured.

We were very disappointed with this community. We had toured and interviewed them previously and were told one thing but once we were ready to actually conduct the move they would not do what they had stated they would. It seems like there is new staffing then those that we had previously spoken to. When we called and asked for an individual we had been speaking to previously they just stated he was no longer with them. My mom was familiar with University House Issaquah and it is close to where I live, so those were the two primary decisions in choosing here. They offer a lot of activities to the residents, plus they have memory care assist.

If there's a place I would want to be, it's definitely in this facility. They seem to have everything here. The amenities include: an entry area that looks like a fancy hotel, saltwater swimming pool, a salon that opens more often, a large dining room and larger variety of rooms configuration.
