Reviews for Aegis Senior Inn of Kent
Loving Staff, Expensive and Understaffed
Families praise Aegis of Kent for its warm, loving staff who genuinely care for residents, particularly in memory care, along with cleanliness, creative activities, and excellent communication. However, several reviews cite serious concerns: very high costs that quickly deplete savings with no Medicaid acceptance, chronic understaffing and turnover, medication management issues including surprise pharmacy bills, a run-down building with slow repairs, and inadequate supervision in memory care. The facility appears to deliver compassionate care when properly staffed, but organizational problems and affordability issues create significant challenges for families.
A beautiful community with amazing staff. You're always warmly welcomed when you arrive by the front desk or GM, and you can tell that the residents are well taken care of by the clinical staff.
Aegis Living is a good and quite place if you are looking for a facility of a loved one who need special care in aging and transitioning The place is clean and attractive. The staffs from the Executive play their roles with dignity and respect showing love to all residents not minding the challenges that come along with this noble career. Please feel free to come and tour the place .
The staff is kind, but very understaffed and high turnover. Left parents without necessary items like toilet paper for days. Can’t trust what they advertise about their dining service, likes times and choices. Very run down building and takes forever to get anything repaired, if it ever is. Doesn’t allow certain as needed medication at night due to their policies. Won’t allow resident back after hospital stay if rehab needed, even though their sales person promised rehab could always be don
5/19/25 We had a family member stay 30days for respite care. The whole team is wonderful and work hard to keep residents entertained, comfortable, healthy, and happy! They are compassionate and understanding and do their best not to just support the person staying, but they want to support the whole family. Not just cookie cutter support. They worked hard to understand our family. They have creative actives to occupy residents throughout the day. They try to make them feel like they are hom

You can see it in their faces and how they interact with you and the guest. 4. Quality of care is excellent. 5. Administrative staff - excellent! 6. Don't know, didn't eat it, but they bake fresh bread almost everyday and makes the place smell wonderful. 7. They had a full schedule of activities. 8. Price - expensive, but I think they all are. Was happ

It was a 5 all around BUUTTT we went through $[removed]in about 6 months!! AAAAND they do NOT accept medicaid. Sooo momma is now at [removed] We really loved Aegis, all the staff, the building & accommodations were awesome! I so wish we had not had to move her. COC has had many staff turn overs in the year she has been there, both business office & care givers. Convince them to accept Medicaid!!! Mental HC is NOT just for the rich!! I mean, are they in the business to HELP or just get $$?!
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They really get to know the residents and their families. Very clean and well kept facilities. Seems to have a nice variety of activities and meals. Seamless move in process. Great communication via email and phone calls. They have been great to work with.
We moved my dad into Aegis Living of Kent in [date removed]. 2 months later the world shut down and Aegis did such an amazing job not only of keeping its residents safe, but also maintaining communication and connection with family members! They had daily activities that are specifically designed for dementia patients and everyone who works there is well versed in how best to interact. We felt that they truly loved our dad and actually cared about him and us. It was just what we wanted in a dif
They have been a God Send to us! Bless them all!! ????Hard times right now and they are wonderful. Yes, expensive, but worth our momma! And a big Thank you, as well to A Place For Mom for helping find Aegis for her
My dad just turned 99. He lives at Aegis Living of Kent. He moved in there in [date removed]. Amazing timing. My family chose Aegis because the vibe we got there felt personal. I believed the director and marketing person when they said they wanted my dad to feel at home and that they would try every day to care for him as we would if we could in his advancing decline into dementia. They adapted to the stressful demands of the pandemic and were able to keep the residents safe and the families in
My mother has had the most loving and amazing care at the Kent facility. The caregivers have sent us video’s of my in their care, pictures and continually gives us updates. Their activities are numerous, fun and very creative. The employees from the director, chef, caregivers are truly angels. Our mother had been in another facility before Aegis and there is truly no comparison. I have peace of mind knowing my mother is so very well taken care of. Thank you Aegis
Overall our families experience was good, sometimes the care was questionable - on the memory care side we felt at times our loved one and the other residents could have a little more supervision. When it came to the meals they were great - our loved one did not eat certain proteins so they were very flexible with them and would change up their meals if needed. We did see a few activities they would have movie nights and different puzzle games.
We went to see Aegis of Kent. We were favorably impressed with the staff, the philosophy of care, and the visiting policy. They have an open-door policy, where the family gets a code and you can go any time 24 hours a day with no advance notice, which meant a lot to us. It felt very transparent, and I feel really positive about that. The thing that turned me off about this facility was the physical plan. The facility itself was a little bleak. There was something a little bleak about it that was
My mother is in Aegis Living in Kent. She's in their memory care unit, and they've been fabulous. The staff is wonderful; they're loving and caring. We had to move her in during COVID, and they sent us pictures and newsletters. They try to send us newsletters every day with pictures to tell us what's happening and what they're doing. They also do a lot of art. They have an outdoor area that they decorated to make it nice and cozy, and we can visit our loved ones there. T
My dad had advanced state Alzheimer's when he came to Aegis of Kent. The staff was great. Whenever any of his kids showed up for a visit, dad was up and included in social activities He was always clean. The staff treated him with respect and truly cared for him. They cried along with us, when the end came. Absolutely would recommend Aegis of Kent for Memory Care.
Aegis of Kent is a small facility, and it works out great for my dad. We were greatly impressed with this facility. What I like about best in this facility is their staff. I walked in there, and dad has been doing painting and musical things.
Residents are taking care of in loving manner, many caregivers truly love the residents, all of whom have Alzheimer's or dementia.. One downfall would be the amount of turnover of employees.
Aegis of Kent was a very nice place. The people were fantastic, and we got a lot of information from their administrator who was super nice.
