Reviews for Madison House
Caring Staff, Occasional Concerns
Most reviewers praise Madison House for attentive, compassionate staff who respond quickly to medical needs and create a warm community atmosphere. Families appreciate the professional care, clean facilities, friendly residents, and good food. However, one family reported a devastating lack of structure and concern after their father's death, while another review from 2021 described worn facilities, broken amenities like the pool and bistro, and maintenance delays. A 2023 review noted staffing retention issues affecting nursing care quality. Overall, recent reviews trend positive aside from isolated but serious complaints.
Live here a bit less than a year, staff is incredibly perceptive about needs and quick to figure out solutions. For example a week ago, I saw a staffer immediately respond to a fall, summon appropriate medical assistance from staff medical specialists … exactly what the situation needed.
No structure or real care whatsoever. My dad passed away at this facility last night. There was no care or concern from the staff they were just worried about moving on to other things and going back to break. The staff had no structure from day one. My family is very disappointed we fell for all the misinformation we received when we first came it was a terrible experience from start to finish.
Recently I had two clients interested in moving to Madison House and Marnie, the community relations director worked endlessly to find the best apartment that met my clients financial, care and interest requirements. Marnie also helped them feel welcomed by introducing them to other residents with similar interests. The new residents and families really appreciated Marnie’s assistance!
I am so thankful for my brother's new home at Madison House! After touring other assisted living facilities, I felt comfortable and confident from the first time I set foot in Madison House. All of the staff are welcoming, communicative, helpful, and energetic. The atmosphere is warm, comforting, and homey. The layout is bright, airy, clean and spacious. I am excited and relieved to see my brother flourish as he embraces his new life and community at Madison House. I look forward to every
Our family very much appreciated Madison House while Grandma was living there. The caregivers took amazing care of her. Always respectfully and with kindness. I slept well knowing she was looked after and safe. From the very first conversation with [name removed], To the very last conversation with [name removed], we felt love and support. One of the first things I noticed during our tour was the detail and care given to maintaining the property. The chair rail was clean of dust. I also appreci
My mom found the residents quite friendly during our initial walk through which ultimately is what made her choose Madison House. The staff are all fabulous. They get to know the residents very quickly making the transition easy.
We have met many residents who encourage building friendships with each other. They invite Grandma and her family to activities. They sit down at her table for breakfast to have a conversation. The staff strives for a culture of positive attitude. Even as a family member who visits probably far too often the residents and staff treat me as a friend. Oh, for one specific example of how the staff and residents react to feedback. We read the rulebook about dining room, etiquette for family and frie
My loved one liked the food. As far as activities, they need to keep staff retention. The nursing care also needs to improve. They lost a lot of staff members. The in-house therapy was really good. My advice to other families, looking to place their loved one here, is to show up and pay attention. As a family member go several times a week, to check on your loved one.
Madison House is a great community. It's charm is warm and inviting. Care staff and servers are amazing. My moms housekeeper is great. The leadership truly cares and exceeds expectations.
This communities location was far out and there was nothing like shopping or anything close. This community was more good for scenic views and it was more expensive.
Madison House is a beautiful facility that seemed to be very well run. It just did not check all of our boxes. It was too big for my friend, we were looking for something smaller and more personal.
Within hours of moving into the community my dad needed medical care as he got very sick. In hindsight he had been fighting off pneumonia for a few weeks. My mom pulled the emergency cord and in a minute or two several staff members came to their apartment including one of the RNs. He is still having medical struggles and the staff is superb!
Apartments are old and tired looking with old appliances that no longer work well. Air conditioner and heaters old and noisy. Pool out of commission and likely will not be repaired and reopened. The Bistro has been closed and also not likely to be reopened. Hall carpets dirty and worn. Apartment maintenance needs can take days before addressed. They constantly run out of dinner menu options and deserts. NOT the luxury living they advertise.
Mom is at MH with dementia, and the staff there does their best to care for her. With COVID it is difficult with the limitations that brings, but the staff I have met is compassionate and helpful and tries to support her in this challenging time. It's an older facility, but reasonably well maintained. I have met several nice residents who said they quite like staying there. Food is decent, location is good, a little off the beaten path.
My Mom has been at Madison House for almost 3 yrs. She wishes she had come sooner. She truly loves the amazing and interesting residents that she has come to know. Once after being in the hospital and rehab for over 2 months she couldn’t wait to return “home” to MH. During this virus quarantine we are all grateful for the extra care that MH provides. Unlike being in her former home, she sees care givers at least 6 times a day! She feels comfortable and well taken cared of. Kudos to all the staff
[Name removed] was very enthusiastic and helpful. She followed up after our tour. It wasn't the right option for my mother.
Great place for meetings and lunch. Attended AAA driving classes and monthly retired teachers meetings/lunch. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Convenient location for retirement living and competitive pricing!
I love Madison House! The staff is wonderful and people that live here are very friendly and warm!
I feel that staff treats my mom the way they would want someone to treat their parents. Now if they could get the pool open....
I like it here, there is a lot to do. The people are great, it is comfortable.
Lovely for our luncheons!
Thanks for hosting this fun event. The food is great and presentation beautiful. Seems like a lovely place.
Excellent hospitality and food, floors were very well kept. Very clear building.
Thank you VERY much for putting the tournament on. I really enjoy my time during those 2 days. The staff is wonderful and so is the food. Everything is very well organized and the players are very congenial. We all hope that you continue this tradition.
Wonderful place to live. Lots to do - wonderful folks
Great food. Nice social staff
My parents had more specific needs that couldn't be met without having medical staff on hand 24/7. The staff at Madison House is caring, diligent, and kind. They make sure my parents have everything they need and work hard to ensure that the transition from living in a separate home to an apartment in an assisted care facility is as smooth as it can be. Absolutely I would recommend Madison House for somewhere for your loved ones to live.
Talked with [Removed] and although it sounded like a wonderful place for retirement living; our son prefers that we move closer to his home and family. Therefore, we are taking Madison House off our list.
Spoke with Madison House; based on Mom's more than mild dementia, their current facility/staff is not able to accommodate mom at this time. They are currently building a memory care facility that might be a possibility in the near future.
Very nice, but too big, too overwhelming.
Everything is working out well for my parents with their move to this care home. I know they are in good hands, and safe in this care home. They have a friendly, helpful staff. They provide good meals, and nice activities for the residents. I'am comfortable with their move to this care home. It is a pleasant home, and I would recommend it.
I am doing great in Madison House and I love it here.
Madison House is a gorgeous place. The staff was wonderful and we event ate a delicious meal there! We chose against it because it was not in our desired location and the cost was higher than other options. I would recommended them!
I toured this community for my father in law and everything went very well. This community looks amazing. They have nice big windows that lets in the sun light. The dining area looks outstanding, very formal. The lady who gave us the tour was very kind and informative. She answered all our questions. Overall this is an outstanding community.
Things are going very well. As far as I know, the staff is great and the facility is well maintained. We do not have any complaints with Madison House. So far, the facility is doing a pretty good job overall.
The only problem that I see is that you have to wait too long and spend too much time getting the meals. The food itself is fine, they just need to clean up the service. The accommodations for the room are fine and the maid service is fine and they have plenty of amenities. It is an excellent place.
Value was equal to or better to what I saw at other places. For the price, it was the best deal. I like everything about this place. It's very nice, it's friendly, the food is terrific. They're about to remodel, so it will be even nicer. My father likes it. He's doing really well. He likes that it's close to me and his other daughters. It is nicer than the facility where he was living before.
Madison House is my first choice of the retirement homes I have seen so far. Very comfortable, residents seemed happier and more engaged than other places. A number of staff have worked many years there. Close to two of mom's doctors.
