Reviews for Aegis of Mercer Island
Exceptional Staff, Thriving Residents
Aegis Living on Mercer Island earns universal praise across all reviews, with families and residents highlighting exceptional staff responsiveness, a welcoming atmosphere, and comprehensive care that helps residents thrive rather than simply exist. Reviewers specifically commend individual staff members by name (particularly Juliette and Kathy Miller), the facility's beautiful common spaces with Northwest décor, restaurant-quality meals, and personalized wellness programs. The only consideration is that all reviews are overwhelmingly positive with no critical feedback provided, suggesting families should still conduct their own thorough evaluation.
For numerous times, our mother at Aegis had been charged for the services that Aegis did not provide us. For example, Aegis charged us the dinners of her guests at the dining room (she did not have any guest on that particular day), Aegis charged for Tray Services that they did not provide us. Aegis claims that they have a sophisticated device/process to track dinner guest counts. We have seen everyday that tracking device is a piece of paper with a resident name list in the dining room. Best place to be
Extremely poor service. Poor staff who do not know how to deal with the elderly. The food is not good at all. A negligent and extremely poor administration that cares about absolutely nothing Don't waste your money, and don't go there.
We moved my in-laws into assisted living when things were in a bit of a crisis. It was an overwhelming situation with BOTH of them declining to the point of not being able to remain in their own home, and not eager to relocate. It was BEST decision ever! Just a couple of weeks later, Covid put everything on lock down and we were reliant on staff to go the extra mile to keep them safe and still having a high quality of life. I can't say enough for the extra effort, communication, and expense inve

Juliette was great!! My mom had spoke to her for a year about joining the island house. For health reasons she decided to move to the island house because of the kind words from Juliette she decided to move to only the island house. Everyone that I’ve spoken to loves it there and they also love Juliette and the kind and loving family atmosphere that the island house offers.
My Mom’s situation was fairly unique. She had been dealing with failing health for a couple of years, but always bounced back after medical treatment. We were all unsure that she would recover from her downward turn. Because of that uncertainty, placing her in Assisted Living was quite a challenge. Aegis was absolutely fantastic. I cannot sing their praises enough. Truly an extraordinary group of people! Between hospice and Aegis, Mom’s every need was met. A nursing care plan was put

We are extremely impressed with Aegis Mercer Island. We moved my mother-in-law there from across the country this past summer (2022). We were of course concerned about the transition and all the change being really hard on her. However, the wonderful Kathy Miller at Aegis made her feel comfortable from day 1. Kathy is vivacious, truly kind and super responsive. My mother-in-law quickly relaxed and has been very happy there. The building is beautiful, with a lot of great common spaces, both indoo
We like the location very much, it is very convenient for our family. We like the decor and that it appeals to our loved one - it is like Native American/north - westy vibe which makes her feel very comfortable. The community is not to big to where it is overwhelming, there are a lot of small cozy spaces to gather in.
Terrible vet clinic
Like so many of us seniors my wife Francesca and I were quite reluctant to give up our own home when it became clear that we could no longer live on our own. After looking at a number of places we decided to join the Mercer Island Aegis Assisted Living community. We could not have made a better decision, and the only question was "why didn't we come here earlier?" The quality of care here is second to none, the atmosphere among our fellow seniors is most pleasant, and the interaction with staff

My parents are extremely happy here. Every time I speak with them, they tell me it's like living at a 5-star hotel. The staff are wonderfully accommodating and have kept the residents safe following all precautions related to COVID.
One of the best decisions ever made was to move my father close by to Aegis living. He is happy, well cared for, and he sees his children frequently even if it is just a wave, hello. Aegis MI does a great job, and the GM will work with you on solutions. Great place for our dad to live.
