My mom fully enjoyed her time at Merrill Gardens. She had a wonderful community of residents, staff & medical providers. The staff is professional, sincere, caring & go the extra mile for each resident & their families. The place is very welcoming, clean, smells good & feels like a very nice hotel. My experience has been fantastic. I have been here 14 months and everything is better than I expected. The staff has gone over and above to make sure I and my wife, who is in there memory care unit, can be together as much as possible. They have made both of our quality of life better than it was before we came here.

We just attended the Thanksgiving gathering/dinner at Merrill Gardens yesterday. It was fun, festive and the food was fantastic. All the staff from the top down are on hand greeting people when they walk in, serving, and circulating saying hello to the residents and their families. I can’t say enough positives about this place. It was one year ago that our family was searching for a new home for my sister. I am so glad we/she landed at Merrill Gardens!

Merrill Gardens is truly a gift to seniors. I’ve volunteered at this community for several years, and every time I visit, I’m reminded of how special it is. This community hosted South End Coalition this month and did a fabulous job! The breakfast was wonderful, perfect sized room, all the staff were welcoming and went the extra mile some coming in as early as 4am to prep for us. So appreciated!

I just had Easter Brunch with my mother, a resident of Merrill Gardens in Renton, WA. We both had a wonderful time, thoroughly enjoying the great food, beautiful decorations and festive holiday atmosphere that all of the staff helped to create. Shelley and her team always do a great job making all of their residents feel special. I am very fortunate to have my Mother living in such a wonderful, family environment.

My Dad moved to Merrill Gardens about 3 years ago. He was living at home by himself. He is very happy at Merrill Gardens. His health has improved, he is more social, gets more exercise and is very well taken care of. He currently is living independently and it is comforting to know he will be able to age in place and won’t have to move again.

Such kind, thoughtful and nurturing care for both residents and their families. We were made to feel welcome and at home the minute we walked in the door. This is such a wonderful facility with caring staff. I come here often for events and interaction with the residents who all seem so happy. The staff is wonderful and supportive of the greater community and love hosting outside groups!

We always choose Merrill Gardens for meeting space. The staff is so attentive. The rooftop space in summer is a perfect spot!

I have the pleasure of visiting Merrill Gardens in Renton atleast once a month and this facility is the nicest I have ever been to. It has been a positive experience for her, the outings, the special events, the cleanliness and care they all give is wonderful! Everything from move-in through integration into the community went smoothly. Everything they promised was delivered. They accommodated our special needs. We just moved our dad into Merrill Gardens Memory Care this week. The entire staff was extremely welcoming and warm to us. We were able to eat a delicious lunch with him and a staff member which really helped ease the transition. The entire centre is buzzing with positive energy and smiles.

Father's day luncheon was excellent. Favorite was the beef brisket that apparently was cooked by the Merrill Gardens Kitchen staff on their smoker the day before. Some staff are great but constantly say we don't have time for you. We found our Mother laying down unable to move or even reach her water. After we came in and started feeding her and giving her water she got better. They said we don't feed the residents. We understand that but they knew she hadn't eaten for 3 days and didn't notify any family members that she couldn't feed herself. they bullied and intimidated a 91 year old lady then lied to the manager about when we reported them. We had a great tour experience with Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre. This facility was actually my mothers favorite out of all of the ones we visited. The price and what they offered was pretty comparable to the the one we ended up choosing. Unfortunately when we came back to this facility to put a deposit down, there were no more units available at the time so we had to choose another place.

What really stood out to us and ultimately was the deciding factor was the community outreach person, they made a great first impression. It is expensive but it is worth it and based on the experience we would recommend the community to other families.

Our loved one absolutely loves the meals and dining service, but there could be more activities for those who are more active. Even just taking them out on a walk to get some cardio and circulation going - have a little more stimulation. We do think the overall value is really good and based on our experience so far with Merrill Gardens we would recommend them to other families.

My mother moved into Merrill Gardens at the beginning of this year, they have been so great to her. Their care teams are the best I have seen and make my mom feel happy and well taken care of. Merrill gardens is definitely a nice place to bring your loved one. a nice, clean environment with friendly staff who are very welcoming to visiting families. they could benefit from bringing in more engaging activities for the residents, but still overall a good community. the best out of the other places we toured.

We chose Merrill Gardens because of the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff members that we met with, and it just gave us a good feeling when we walked in. The room sizes were good, he had a 1 bedroom and it worked out great for his needs. I felt like they really tried to give personalized attention and always knew us and my dad by name. They were fantastic and I would recommend them to others looking.

I would tell others to watch out for the General Manager and their protocols and their pushbacks. Due to the incident with the General Manager this was not the best way to get our loved one settled into the community. I wish things would have gone smoother for the transition with the move in. The community is beautiful and great. I wish visiting hours would be later for us to visit our loved ones. The communication with the staff could be better.

I have many relatives living here and whenever I visit the staff are so friendly. When we are here for brunch, you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making it inviting for all of us. They greet my grandma with genuine sincerity.

Don't get roped in by the new building. Poor care. My dad has been there a year and they still haven't fixed the patio door. The menu hasn't changed. This place is a poor excuse for assisted living. Don't put your relatives in this craphole.

We had a tour and they were a great place and it could have been fine for my In-Law. There were a large number of Asians for him to speak Cantonese and they were close to our home. I felt he would have been comfortable but it was not the right fit for him.

i have no complaints of how things are going for my self since I have recently made the move into this community. The staff have been attentive to our needs and have made us feel right at home in our new living environment. I like the dinning experience with the other residents as well as the activity program they have available. I would recommend this place to anyone interested.

I visited my friends in their apartment and was given a tour by them. Except for the high cost, I was favorably impressed until we had lunch. The salad bar was fresh, but very limited. The entrees, however, were almost inedible. Fish tasted old and unpleasant. The ribs were burned and tough and left uneaten. My mother will be moving into this community soon. She is very pleased with what this community has to offer. The staff is kind and very helpful. They were informative and answered our questions. We have tried four meals, and all of them tasted great. I feel that my mother will be comfortable here and they are going to take good care of her.

General manager is unfriendly and uptight. Time for a vacation or new job! Nurse appears to be there to collect paycheck. Not interested in residents. It has been a good experience at Merill Gardens for my father. It is a nice clean facility. The staff members are very friendly there. The only thing that I hear is that is a little more expensive than we were even thinking it would be. That is really my only complaint though.

I just about choked yesterday when the Representative told me there was a non-negotiable, one time, non-refundable, $5,000 "Community fee" BEFORE my Aunt could move in. I see from a previous responder that this fee was only $1,000 in September of last year. This is nothing less than high level extortion. My experience with Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre has been a very good one. They have been very easy to deal with, and I feel my mom has improved in the time she's been there. She's really enjoying the food, and starting to ease into the activities they offer. Overall she's happy, and I have already recommended Merrill Gardens to others. I rate them a 5 out of 5.

I lived there for three months and did not like it at all. In my opinion, there were no activities to speak of and the atmosphere was cold. There was a monthly drawing of names to sign up for bus trips. If the trips were popular, there was a chance they would be booked up. I had to pay $1000.00 up front to get in. It was an expensive boring three months.

I did not feel comfortable and welcome. They told me that I didn't qualify, without even checking to see my financial situation. I just didn't feel comfortable there, the community was not very diverse, culturally.

The intake staff are helpful, friendly, and supportive.

Nancy Phalen conducted the tour. The lobby and dining room feels very institutional, like a large college dormitory. The food was unappetizing. The rooms were very clean and well appointed, though a bit small.

Aunt, Uncle, Dad and I toured this place and have taken grandma there twice for a visit. Since Grandma knows someone who lives there, this place seems to be the most comfortale place to go.
