Reviews for The Lodge at Eagle Ridge
Caring Staff, Inconsistent Dining
The Lodge at Eagle Ridge earns consistent praise for its warm, caring staff and beautiful campus setting. Reviewers frequently highlight friendly, attentive employees who genuinely care for residents, along with strong activities programming and a welcoming community atmosphere. However, food quality remains a recurring concern—while some residents love the meals and appreciate the kitchen staff, many others report bland, cafeteria-style fare that falls short of the "farm-to-table" marketing. Additional critiques include staff turnover (especially front desk and kitchen), inconsistent maintenance, limited parking, and early dinner service ending at 6pm.
The Lodge at Eagle Ridge has a lovely campus, but not much in the way of parking near the main entrance. The grounds are lovely, and it is reported that deer and other wildlife make occasional appearances. The building is going through upgrades and what has been done looks amazing. All rooms have AC units, which is not common in the PNW, but is definitely a needed luxury. All units come with a refrigerator and a microwave, the larger units have cooktops or a stove & oven. Unfortunately, th
Gencare is a wonderful company and Eagle Ridge is such a beautiful setting with a warm lodge feeling. The staff is so warm and welcoming! The food is excellent with even gluten free options that I enjoy eating. The Executive Director Justin Wammock is very responsive and ready to assist whenever I need anything. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your loved ones to come live at Eagle Ridge should need need care!
The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They say hello to residents by name and recognize their families when they visit. There are many varied activities for the residents to participate in. There is a variety of food choices, many which change each week. My husband is extremely happy here, and is very glad I chose this place for him.
We just moved my Mother-in law into this complex. It has been one of the easiest experiences thanks to Justin and Serenity! Every step of the way we were met with nothing but clear communication and friendly professionalism. They worked with us every step of the way, including communicating with her primary care physician, to help guide us in the right direction. This is our first move into an assisted living establishment and they made it seamless! If you are looking for an assisted living
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful kitchen staff at GenCare Renton. My mother-in-law loves her meals, and it’s one of the few things she still truly enjoys. She often compliments Irma, the cook, which speaks to the care and attention put into each meal. Thank you Irma and the entire kitchen staff for their dedication, warmth, and hospitality. It's such a relief to know that my mother-in-law is not only receiving great care but looks forward to somet
Seems like there's been some front desk turn-over, not sure why. The food is ok, but on my tour it was described as "farm-to-table" and it is more like almost average diner food. The hallways, particulary stairwells recently are looking unvacuumed and kind of shabby. It's still a relief to know that help is a button push away, and that she gets clean sheets and housekeeping every week. She also filled.out an extensive questionnaire about her interests, but that info was never used to connect her
My mother-in-law is expected to move into GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge assisted living. I have toured the facility and I like it because they have a long-term staff so people have been there for years. They have systems in place that are tailored to individual resident's needs. The director also knows each resident by name, as far as I can tell, and the residents themselves are happy and engaged. They have exercise and personal trainers, their food is delivered to them, and they're
The meals and dining as well as the activities gets a 5+. Here, the staff are super nice, the food is excellent,(they have a new chef that helped improve the menu) The health director gives excellent guidance for exercise and gym use. There is an instructor for chair yoga that is very helpful. And the nursing staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I think it was a good choice for me.
I toured GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. I don't think there's anything we saw that we felt negative about. The food was excellent. It's a very nice place; very nice facilities. It looked like it was very well kept. They seemed to have a lot of social type activities. However, because we are still reasonably active, it doesn't seem like there are places where we could take. They had a lot of very nice facilities, but that was the only downsize as far as we were concerned. T
I went to GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. It was good and informal. The gal that did the tour and gave us the information did a good job and presented us with some good deals like say in three months you have a month off and in six months you have another month off without paying. And that there are some incentives before I sign up for this month. So, she gave it all the breaks and showed us as good as she could have. They have appliances like a two-burner hot plate or something like that and
Lovely walking path around the building. Well-kept grounds. Nice windows/views from dining room. Seems like quite a lot of staff turnover in kitchen since Feb, including with serving staff. Food has been really variable. Was touted as farm-to-table, but there is a lack of farm-fresh that I've seen. Very bland, commercial type cafeteria food. Salad bar is half canned things. Also, dinner service ends really early...6pm. That's tough for some folks (including my mom, who's had dinner at 7 or so h
It was good. They probably watched out for my dad more than they needed to before his dementia got so bad that he needed different care. The people were very friendly. I would recommend it to a friend.
The staff was very loving towards my mother, which was great. They tried to get her to be a participant even if she couldn't participate she would be there to watch. The front desk was great. Everyone was nice sometimes communication was a little bit off, but that's hard they have a lot of residents so they're pretty busy. It's a wonderful place they have so many activities. It's unbelievable you cannot get bored there as a 40+-year-old woman I wouldn't mind living there there's so many fun thin
Our 94-year old mother enjoyed living at the Lodge where the staff, management and residents made her feel at home. The staff were competent, caring and considerate of her comprehensive needs and requests. She found a community filled with enriching activities (singing, dancing, games, art and much more). Our mother form close and inviting relationships. As a family we found the staff both professional and genuine in their care for the residents and management of the facility. Our mother was
I am staying at GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. It's surrounded by greenery, and we're quite distant from the road, so it's very cynically pleasant. They have a smoking area. The staff is fine. The food is tolerable and good enough. I have a bathtub, which is very unusual, and I'm very happy about that. I have a large space. I've got two bedrooms, and I'm only one person. They offer two meals a day. They have a lot of activities. They have singalongs and games.
The Lodge at Eagle Ridge was very helpful. My mom passed away a few weeks ago. Everyone there was very caring. Jessica and her staff treated us with respect and love. The staff here genuinely care about their residents. You can rest assured that your loved one is safe and cared for. They have live music 2 times a week, games everyday, exercise classes. It has a nice homey feeling there. The residents are nice. And [name removed] and her nursing staff are very helpful.
Overall we've had a great experience at The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. The food needs improvement though. Could use better recipes, more generous portions, spices, etc. Create a restaurant type atmosphere...
Based off of our personal experience, I would definitely recommend The Lodge at Eagle Ridge for independent living, but I cannot speak to the assisted living side. The dining experience here cannot be beat!
The Lodge has plenty of different activities going on for the residents, but when it comes to the meals and dining service, that is terrible. It needs major improvement - there needs to be more options to pick from. The meal items are often served cold and sometimes what they have on the menu they are out of. The servers don't really following direction either.
We really like the location and the staff to resident ratio. The move-in and welcome was great. I just wish they coordinated with Medicare for nursing services.
The staff members at GenCare at The Lodge at Eagle Ridge were wonderful. They were very nice and very thorough. The follow-up was great. I like everybody that we talked to. The rooms were a little small, but not bad. They're very clean, and they re-do everything. We saw the room that my mom was going into before it was completely done, but they were redoing it a lot. The grounds were beautiful. There's a beautiful view from the dining room. It was set up pretty much like a restaurant.
I toured GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge, and it was a very nice place. The staff was very nice and helpful, and they were ready to sign me up. I liked that it was way up in a mountainous area. They had walking paths all around the area for people who had their pets. You could bring all your stuff in the room. It had ample closet space, and it was just very inviting. There were hiking areas and mountains, which you could see from your room. There was nothing blocking your view. It was just very
GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge was nice. My only problem there was the parking wasn't great. It was very clean and very well laid out. The halls were wide. They would be great even if you were using a wheelchair or a walker. I like the place. The staff were very personable, and they answered all my questions quickly and accurately. I was very impressed. They had some activities going on in the main living area when I was there. It was like a cornhole tournament or something like that. The
I toured GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. It was a good experience. Everything looked nice. They were well organized. However, I don't think my parents were ready to do it. The one who gave me the tour seemed a little stressed out because I think she was the only one there at the time or something happened. I think she was feeling a little stretched thin. I think the overall experience was OK. It was satisfactory. The apartments were nice, but they were small. I think that was probably
The Lodge is a very friendly community with friendly staff. It's a very nice place to live with a great view. The apartments look nice. In the beginning, my parents liked the food. And then I think there was a change in staff, so they're missing the variety and flavor that was there originally. But they're very happy overall.
I went to GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. It will be too expensive for my relative right now, but it was great. I enjoyed the walkthrough. Patricia was very thorough and very kind. It's just a nice friendly place. The accommodations were great. They have a lot of different things that he will enjoy. She took me to the rooms and I toured two of the rooms, which were the perfect size for him. Everything's just great. I walked through the fitness center and she took me to where the gard
GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge had a much more green area. It was more open than the other place and I liked that. It was very up-to-date and modern. I was extremely impressed with the director. She was a great hostess. She took me around and showed me everything. They don't have any kind of staff turnover. Everybody tends to stay, which was great. The rooms were good. Patricia sent me a list of hiking facilities that I could easily get to from there, which is something that I'm very
The staff all have a very positive attitude. Everybody really seems to have my loved one's interest at heart. They work hard to keep her motivated. She was kind of depressed being there initially, and they've overcome that beautifully. The facility itself is all good from a cleanliness and décor perspective and has a very friendly feel. And the food is excellent.
My brother moved into GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. We chose it because he wanted to live in Renton. Three meals a day and housekeeping were important. It's clean and bright, and it's well-staffed. It has a warm supportive community atmosphere inside. It gives a feeling of caring for the people and I think they look after one another. He is very happy with the food so far. He's not been there long enough to do activities yet, but it sure looks good to me. The facility is excel
I toured GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. They had plenty of nurses. It was just a nice place with a beautiful view. My father is also familiar with that because it used to be an Elks Lodge that he was a member of years ago, so it was a familiar thing. It was excellent. I think they do a wonderful job. The staff who toured me around was very informative and very helpful. They took me to see several rooms. I like the rooms. They weren't exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why
I toured both independent and assisted living of GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. The community seemed very open. They seemed to be pretty at ease with everything. The facility itself made me think I want to move in there. The staff who gave me the tour was outstanding. The rooms were a little small, but manageable. They have a Friday happy hour, weekly outings, live music that comes in once a month, an exercise room, a pool table, and a reading room. The outdoor spaces were pretty peaceful and
I toured The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. They're friendly, clean, lively, and it would have been a good fit. It offered everything my uncle needed. The staff is informative and friendly. They have a gym, walking trail, outings, and gatherings. They were also in a nice neighborhood.
My mom will be in an apartment at GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. She'll have her own apartment and they'll come in and check and help her with certain things. I like the atmosphere, the environment is just very pleasant, and the different levels of care will be useful. I think the apartments are all laid out well and they're very comfortable, clean, and nice. They all have nice different kinds of views because there's nice landscaping outside for people to look at. The st
We went to GenCare The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. The director was most gracious and most kind because it was before Halloween. She was extremely busy, but she took an hour out of her schedule and gave us a good tour. It was nice because they had cottages, which we would prefer, and she showed us one room that had just been rented and it was huge. We were really surprised. We like facilities that give us space. It was one of the better ones that we saw that we were interested in. Because of COVID, sh
We're looking for a temporary housing solution for my 95-year old mom for two weeks. The Lodge seemed to have everything we need. I would have given 4 stars, but we were told by the director that the minimum stay was 30 days. That is more than what we need. This news was disappointing.
Everyone is friendly it is a nice atmosphere my frustration is they took away the comfortable theater seats and moved the theater upstairs in the activity center the chairs are not comfortable for a 2 hour movie and the atmosphere isn’t as good the food here is about a 3 or 4 star most of it is ok but not always but there are alternates to substitute. I am independent living so don’t use the care team but have seen the frustration of those who do because they have long waits for someone to answe
The apartments were fairly spacious, but felt a little "institutional". Also located on a steep hill. So if there's any snow or ice, you're stuck. No transitional or memory care. While the food sounded delicious, their price only includes 2 meals a day, whereas MOST facilities provide 3.
I thought that this place was very clean and well maintained by all the staff and residents. They where very welcoming to my dear friend and I and kept things very professional during our visit. I especially liked the menu they had available as well as the activity log they had for the week. It was just not the right fit of location for him. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone interested in an assisted living.
My tour of The Lodge at Egal Ridge was fine. They were able to answer my questions and show me around the facility. It was a good experience.
It was a good tour but it wasn't right for my mom. The community is a clean place and well run. The residents I saw seemed happy, healthy and involved. It was a really nice place and they didn't have the availability for the size of apartment we wanted.
The Lodge had the nicest facilities, except that it didn't have a pool. The location was a little difficult to get to. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was nice. The pricing was higher than I liked. However, it was the most comfortable of all the places I visited.
I am happy with this community. The staff are very caring and attentive. The staff has been helpful. The community gives you a at home feeling here. The other residents make you feel at home. I am happy with meals and the variety. I would recommend other familes to this community and forb the care and the value. This is a great home for me.
This is a nice community, but my mother wasn't very pleased, so she has decided she wants to move. She is pleased with the food. They take a while to fix things. Other then those issues I think it is a nice place. Everybody is friendly and kind. They do offer activities for the residents. It is a nice safe community, my mother just wasn't very happy.
The staff and the residents of GenCare Renton were totally friendly. It was very clean, and they had a big room full of people playing some sort of game. It wasn’t bingo, but a game that you can play with a large group of people, and they were having a hilarious time. I’m sure they had great activities. They had a huge dining room that surely could accommodate tons of people. I would rate it 4 stars simply because you have to go everywhere to get things done. It’s a bit far to go for general sho
We toured 6 facilities in our hunt for a place for my 95 year old Mother. For our needs the Lodge stood out above all others. The staff is friendly and respond quickly to your needs. Mom is not in need of assisted living yet, however, when she is there is staff to respond. She has just been there three weeks, so far we are happy.
After more than 2 years here I feel like part of a wonderful family that keeps growing.
Very helpful and friendly. The property was clean and the staff was friendly
The Lodge at Eagle Ridge is full of caring staff and residents. While it is geared toward independent living, they are very attuned to changes in senior behavior and make recommendations accordingly. The administration is headed by an RN, and the office staff are young, strong and very pleasant to be around. The residents are well cared for with loads of activities for every level of fitness, including a personal trainer for exercise class, on-site salon/barber shop, libraries, worship services,
This was a nice place, and was our second choice. They only offered two meals a day though. There was another community that we were considering that offered three meals a day. Had the other place not negotiated their price with us, we would have come here.
GenCare Renton at The Lodge was a very nice place, but I couldn't afford the amount. The staff was good -- everything was good. They had bingo, potlucks, and outings. The food was nice looking. I liked that everybody was friendly, it seemed like they all knew their job, and they were helpful.
The maintenance is pretty bad. It is an older building and the room I had was not nice. There have been some plumbing issues where some of the pipes are showing rust. They have a washing machine and dryer on each floor, but the one on the second floor has not worked for a couple of years. In my place I had a little refrigerator and microwave that's supposed to be plugged in, but one of the circuit breakers went out and it was a big headache getting that addressed, and it has still not been f
My loved one lived here for 4 years before we needed to move him due to increased care needs. The Lodge at Eagle Ridge is a wonderful place, and we'd still have him here if we could! It is a beautiful property, and the staff is very friendly, it was like living in a nice hotel. I highly recommend this place!
They are very good at proactively communicating with us, keeping us informed of what is going on. They are always very accommodating and willing to facilitate any requests. Overall everything is going very well with The Lodge at Eagle Ridge and we would highly recommend them.
The common area into which you first enter is very welcoming. Nallely and Danielle are both knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. We were encouraged to call with any that we might have. The cafeteria is open all day with salad bar and sandwiches made to order. There is the option of enjoying the grill special of the day between specific hours. The facility has a license that allows them to house couples together when one of them requires assisted living but the other is independ
My mom is in GenCare Renton at The Lodge at Eagle Ridge. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The accommodations are really nice, clean and up-to-date. She has her own private apartment, which is included in the price and they clean it. It is in a good size, appointed well, she has a door not only to the hall, but also to the outside. They allow pets which is really important to her. They have a restaurant there and we usual eat with her once a week. They have their special and a wide varie
Mom is in GenCare, and I feel like she's safe there. They have good nursing staff. The staff is very helpful, caring, and very personable. The feeding area is like a restaurant, and its very comfortable. They have a good menu with lots of choices. They have lots of activities. They have musicians come in. They have trips to stores and parks. I don't know if my mom will ever go on those because she doesn't like to be with old people. It is a larger facility, so it has spacious hall
Everything has been great here! My loved one is very pleased with how helpful they are! I knew it would be good, but I didn't know it would be this good! She's extremely plased with the staff! The activities are good - they do church outings and sewing activities. For the most part, I haven't heard anything negetive about the food. We really liked this location because it's near my work and home, but we also really liked how comfortable she felt there. The environment is comfortable and the dire
mom loves this place but has been asked to leave
I really like The Lodge. In fact, that's where I would like to go. It was up on the top of a hill and it was outside the city. The grounds were very lovely to walk around and that counts a lot to me because the only exercise I usually do is walking. Their hallways were spacious. Their rooms were spacious and their bedrooms were bigger. You didn't have to have your bed back up against the window and this is just a personal thing for me. Their staff was excellent. I thought they were ver
I am from out of town but looking for a place for my father. I really liked this place. The staff was friendly. They had cookies at the front desk just like at some hotels. The rooms were large.
Positives - time spent with us and knowledge/friendliness of staff. Jason the Concierge did tour - great job. Distance to NW kidney ctr and VMC good. Costs more in-line w/budget and willing to negotiate. Neg's - phase 2 apts not accredited for AL for 2 more years. Phase 1 general public spaces in need of a decorative lift w/ better lighting. Very dark. No memory care unit. Distance from apts to dining room quite a walk.
Staff member gave me an excellent tour, the apartment was the most spacious that I've seen so far, and they know people currently living there.
Loved it - the place, the people, the food, and the program. I can see Mom living here if she can get past the smoking issue.
This was the first facility we visited and were very impressed. The Director spent over an hour with us touring and showing us all they have to offer. She introduced us to staff and residents and they seemed to really be happy. We liked the size of rooms, the variety of activities and the skilled nursing option available. Also the whole foods program. The one negative is that it is at the very top of her budget. It doesn't leave anything for the extras that will come up. This is our first choice
I had a very positive experience with GenCare. Their staff was very helpful in making my decision; they were there every step of the way. They offered me move in assistance as well as a trial period, this allowed my mother to acclimate and further strengthen her choice. The executive director, Tami R., became as close as family to us. We owe her a great deal. The culinary program, created by Bastyr University, featured fresh ideas and a colorful plate. They have a unique health program designed
