Caring Staff, Aging Building
Brookdale Admiral Heights is praised overwhelmingly for its caring, attentive staff who know residents by name and respond quickly to needs. Families consistently highlight strong activities programming, excellent COVID-19 safety protocols, and a convenient walkable location near shops and restaurants. However, several reviewers note the building feels dated or cluttered, apartments are small, and food quality is repetitive and institutional after the initial weeks.
It is far out for sure you will have a great time here

I found our tour with Brookdale Admiral Heights to be very poor compared to others that we saw. It was below our expectations.
This community is okay but it was to far away from my daughter and I wanted a more modern feeling environment. They gave a good tour with lots of information.
Inspections(3)
The December 2024 inspection identified eight code violations including electrical hazards (exposed wiring, damaged receptacles), blocked electrical panels, missing carbon monoxide alarms near fossil fuel appliances, and incomplete fire safety documentation (sprinkler testing, fire door inspections). The facility responded appropriately by correcting all violations, as confirmed by the March 2025 follow-up inspection showing full compliance. While the violations presented moderate safety concerns—particularly the electrical issues and missing CO alarms—none resulted in immediate jeopardy, and the facility's timely remediation within three months demonstrated good corrective action and commitment to regulatory compliance.
View original report →The inspection identified multiple moderate violations including failure to maintain resident confidentiality (posting confidential resident lists), delayed tuberculosis screening for a staff member (4 months late), missing veterinary certifications for facility pets, incomplete service agreements lacking critical safety protocols for diabetes and anticoagulation management, improper installation of bed rails creating entrapment risk, and unsanitary carpet conditions in multiple resident units. The facility responded appropriately by immediately removing the confidential document, scheduling TB testing, acknowledging missing documentation, and arranging carpet cleaning same-day, demonstrating good responsiveness to identified deficiencies. The follow-up inspection on July 12, 2024 found all deficiencies corrected and the facility in full compliance.
View original report →This was a routine fire safety inspection conducted by the Washington State Fire Marshal on March 22, 2023, at Brookdale Admiral Heights. The report explicitly states that all violations noted during previous inspections have been corrected, indicating no new violations were found during this inspection. The facility demonstrated good compliance with fire safety regulations and successfully addressed any prior deficiencies, warranting approval status.
