Reviews for Cogir of Northgate Memory Care

Caring Staff, Rising Costs

Cogir of Northgate consistently earns praise for its compassionate, patient staff and clean, homey environment. Families describe caregivers who form genuine bonds with residents and management that's responsive and skilled in memory care. However, concerns surface repeatedly about rapid cost increases (30%+ in one year), billing transparency, and aggressive revenue-maximization through care level upgrades. One neighbor alleges chronic littering and parking issues by staff, though this appears isolated. Communication from management and activity robustness receive occasional criticism.

I like to thank all of you for welcoming my father and take such good care of him. It is the biggest blessing in 2025. I know that taking care of people with memory problems is not a easy job and I wanna let you know how much I appreciate all of your hard work and sweet care is appreciated. Many blessings and good fortune in peace to you. May God continue to guide and protect you with love through your hearts. Cheers to 2026.

They are all a 5. What we like the most about the community is the staff, they are wonderful.

Disrespectful staff that litter the neighborhood with medical waste such as used masks, gloves, ultrasound gel packets, etc, on a regular basis (often multiple times per week). Reply: no, you don't take it seriously as I've been talking to you about it for over five years. The last time we talked to you and you said you addressed your employees, the next day we had retaliatory gloves thrown directly onto our front walkway. You see the trash every day when you come in. If your employees won't p

went to visit a friend to see her new place and I loved it! I'm glad she found a nice, cozy spot to live, very homey & the staff were very nice. I was tempted to hold one of the babies on her floor but I resisted 🤗

I visited Cogir of Northgate Memory Care in Seattle. I would say it's for people who are much farther along and people who require constant care and monitoring. It's a very secure facility, and the people are not able to get out unescorted. They have mental issues where they should not go out unescorted, so I appreciate that. I don't think my parents are anywhere close to requiring that kind of care yet, though. I think the people that I saw there were being well cared for, and th

As a Housing and Care Advisor, I trust Cogir of Northgate Memory Care to support not only my client, but their families as well. This hidden gem feels like home, has wonderful walkability, creative activities to meet different levels of dementia, and above all, lots of heart. Kindness and diligence flows from the team.

In trying times such as this it was great Comart to meet and have [name removed], [name removed] and the caring and sweet staff to put myself and our family at ease with out mothers care!

We went to see Cogir of Northgate Memory Care, and we liked it. It's terrific, and its location is a real advantage. The rooms are smaller than some of the older ones because it's a newer building, but it has a great layout. It's functional, too, with lots of closets, a big bathroom, and even a guest closet. It has sliding glass doors and good light. This was the room we saw they were putting in the new floors, and it's lovely. The person who gave the tour was terrific and ve

[name removed] did a great job helping me through the admissions process, she was in constant contact with me showing me that Cogir wanted my mom and was willing to make the process as seamless as possible.

A wonderful welcome and eventually a caring but sad farewell. Heartfelt care and belonging are the things that stay with me following the two years of care my sister enjoyed at Cogir of Northgate Memory Care. There were so many staff who are kind and generous - I tip my hat to all.

My husband stayed at Northgate Memory care for about 6 months. The staff, facilities, and services are all top notch. They provide compassionate care to a very difficult population of seniors with memory challenges.

The staff and team at Cogir Memory Care of Northgate are *exceptional* - as is the care they provided my father throughout his 3+ years in this community. The caregivers are patient, friendly, personable and cared for my dad with dignity, respect and genuine affection.

It has been a great experience with Cogir of Northgate Memory Care. They deliver good quality care at a premium price. I would highly recommend this facility to those looking for memory care.

Huge improvement from prior facility. My loved one regained weight lost at the initial place. Staff are very caring and concerned. The facility is clean and pleasant. The only negatives are: 1. Designed to maximize revenue. Care may start at one level, but it will quickly go up. 2. They prefer to have monthly bills paid directly from your bank account. And bills can be difficult to understand until you understand point #1.

Friend of a relative lived there for almost a year and they took good care of her before she went on Hospice and unfortunately passed. The staff was always friendly and made her feel good when they came to visit. She didnt participate in many activties althoiugh it looked like they has a lot of fun in both activity rooms.

I have lived in the north part of Seattle for quite a while and I check out events on Facebook. I saw a luau event in north Seattle on Facebook, so I decided to drop by it was for Cogir of Northgate Memory Cares annual luau, Upon arrival, I received a lei, and throughout the event, they served hamburgers and margaritas, including non-alcoholic options. There were corn hole games, and I even participated in a raffle for a gift basket, though I didn't win. Despite that, it was a lively and festive

My dad was a past resident of Cogir of Northgate. He stayed there for respite care only for his alcohol-related dementia. The facility is well-kept. It looks clean. The apartments are clean. I didn't have any issues. The grounds are very nice. They have a little back patio area. The staff was great. I didn't have any issues with any of the staff. They were all very, very nice and my dad liked them. They have a lot of stuff all during the day. They'd have like chair yoga and movie

The entire staff, whether receptionist, front office, cleaning, dining, activity, or medical, seem happy to be there. They genuinely enjoy being with and taking care of my mother. The patience they show with all of the residents is truly impressive.

The facilities are clean, they have lots of activities...water coloring, sing alongs with guest musicians, animal visits, yoga..., good meals, trained staff, minimal turnover. My mother is thriving. It is very expensive. I am not thrilled with the care system in the United States.

My wife is currently a resident at Cogir of Northgate MC and most everything has been great for her. I love Cogir and so does my wife. However, her cost for care has gone up over 30% in one year. I'm paying almost $[removed] a year now.

daugher waiting for refundJuly 16, 2023

We paid up front for my mother's care - she was in the facility for 31 days before she passed in May. We have been waiting for 2 months to get a refund for her care and room for a partial month, and 60% of the community fee less $500. (I asked to have the $500 waived since she was there just 1 day over a month, but it was denied.) After 4 requests we still have no idea when we will receive the refund despite assurances it would be forthcoming. Definitely has soured the great experience m

This facility provides excellent personal and social caring for my loved one. The staff are compassionate and calm. My only objection is communication from management to me. I felt a pretty strong objection to her care being increased by $[removed] three months after her initial residency.

Cogir is working well for the level of care my mom needs. They check in on her often, most of the time she is plugged in with the group activities. They attend to incontinent needs promptly. The activities could be better.... often they are just watching tv, but they do have music, crafts and discussion time, news etc. In house N.W. Geriatrics, podiatry, hair salon are helpful, med techs are great. It is what it is, memory care means managing behavior... people get agitated. I wish they had a l

Cogir of Northgate Memory Care had a lot of residents, and so residents will have a lot more people to interact with. It's very homey and very friendly. Not too big and fancy. It's small enough that you'll get lots of individual attention, but it's big enough that as a memory care person, you'll have a lot more community and you won't be locked away in a separate area. The room was really nice. It's big and it's comfortable with windows. I found it to be

What we really like about Cogir is on the initial tour you get to meet so many different staff member's which is great. The staff has done a really good job so far and they are very consciousness. Our only little "complaint" we have is with the activities - they do have some really good ones and everyone is nice who participates in them but they are just not as robust as we thought they would be. We would recommend this community to others for a certain level of care that person may need

I really liked this community however, there was another community that meant more to my family and stood out more that we could not pass up. The tour guide was nice and some of the other staff I was able to speak with were nice also.

Our family had an in person tour and even to this day we think about Cogir, it was such a great tour and in the person location. However our loved one loves to walk everyone and it is right on a busy street which we just did not feel comfortable with.

I witnessed a labor of love from the staff during my visit at Sunrise Northgate. As a healthcare provider working in this type of community, it was so nice to see staff interacting and making the effort to include residents into their activities.
