Reviews for Aegis at Callahan House
Caring Staff, Questionable Billing
Aegis Callahan House receives consistently high praise for its compassionate, long-tenured staff who know residents well and provide engaging activities in a clean, cozy memory care environment. However, several families express frustration with the administration's point-based pricing system, calling it deceptive, unfair, and a source of unexpected costs that detract from an otherwise caring facility. Food quality is adequate but could offer more variety.
My Mom is very comfortable and happy at Aegis Callahan and has been well cared for. The staff there are very engaging and get to know the residents well. The facility is clean, her room is clean, she is clean, even though she sometimes refuses care. The nursing staff is excellent. There are activities regularly scheduled throughout the day.
My Mom is a resident of Aegis Callahan. She is very happy and well cared for. The staff at Aegis know all of the residents and are very good at interacting with them. There are also lots of activities to keep them engaged and active. The nursing staff is great, they have been there for a while and keep me posted about what is going on with my Mom. Memory care is expensive, but Aegis is within the range of other local places. I find that it is worth it. My Mom's room is kept clean, the facility i
The staff doing hands on care are truly hard working & caring people. The administration is untrustworthy and lacking in professionalism. Mostly, their point system which correlates directly to the price a patient pays is broken and unfair. They hide behind licensing laws, but mostly behind their own rules for convenience and profit. This is not a facility I would recommend to others.
Moving in was a breeze, care is what you would expect, but the point system they use for charging for care is deceiving. I feel we’ve been nickled & dimed. There doesn’t seem to be any recourse or reasoning.

Four years ago we moved my mother to Seattle from her home in NH to live with and be cared for by my family. One year ago she transitioned to Callahan House after a short stay at Aegis of Shoreline. My mother suffered from dementia and was in decline for the full year. Last week she died while in hospice at Callahan House. While obviously a difficult situation my family is grateful to the staff at Callahan House for caring for her. When she moved in she was able to have her dog Beanie with h
My mom is happy at this community and I am so happy that she is taken care of. I trust these people with my loved one. They are just really nice people. I really liked this community, there was just another community that was where I grew up and across the street from a field I played at and learned how to play horses. The area just meant a lot to my family covid
Aegis Living at Callahan House has been an incredibly supportive environment for our mother. The staff is so personable and sincerely cares about the wellbeing of each resident, even in some of the most difficult situations. Everyone, from the direct care-givers, to the activities staff, to the concierge, to the support staff, and the management, is so attentive. Even during COVID lockdown, they have tried to keep residents and their families as connected as much as possible.
Our family considered ourselves and our father so fortunate to have him in the Callahan House. It was safe, clean, the staff were incredibly attentive to all the residents, and made an effort to get to know him and provide social enrichment activities.
We feel very fortunate to have discovered The Callahan House at Aegis. It is a first class operation from the top down. Great administration, wonderfully caring staff & a beautifully appointed, always clean, facility.
Two years ago, due to our mom's quickly progressing dementia, my sister and I decided to move her from N California here to Shoreline, close to where I live. We feel really lucky to have found Aegis at Callahan House. We love that it is its own cozier, quieter building devoted to Memory Care, separate from the bigger, bustling Aegis of Shoreline Assisted Living building (next door). The atmosphere is both comfortably family-like, and very competent and professional. All of the staff, from the d
