Reviews for Avamere at Englewood Heights
Caring Staff, Concerning Oversight
Avamere at Englewood Heights receives predominantly positive reviews praising its caring staff, cleanliness, and quality food. Multiple families highlight exceptional caregivers by name and note staff responsiveness to health changes. However, several critical reviews cite serious concerns including poor communication, inadequate care documentation (notably unreported falls), understaffing, and administrative confusion. Two older negative reviews mention staff speaking inappropriately in front of residents and general dissatisfaction with care quality.
Horrible communication, no follow through and extremely bad management.
Nice tour with Michael. Lots of good information and insight.
It is a very clean facility and the personnel there are extra friendly and caring, as well as always helpful.
What we like the most about the community are the activities and the social engagement's. Yes, we would recommend Avamere at Englewood Heights to other families based on the experience so far.
The staff took great care of my dad. Very kind and caring. The facility was always clean and food was good.
The Avamere staff is kind and considerate. I appreciate their concern for the residents. The facility is clean and well cared for.
Thanks for always helping my mom. I always appreciated and respected the opinions and advice of Naomy. Avamere is so lucky to have her.
They have been living there since the first week of February and have already been on an excursion/field trip (Loved it) and are excited to go on more held weekly! They are definitely enjoying the meals and friendship/conversations with other residents. They have also checked out many of the activities and enjoying their view from their 3rd floor view! So glad we took this tour first, they made up their minds as soon as we walked out of the 2nd tour! Although it has been a whirlwind for all of u
Beautiful community and caring staff!
Avamere is one of the best ALFs I have seen in yakima..
My Mom lived here for three months before we needed to move her for more night time care. The apartments are very spacious, up to date , clean and the staff is top notch. Daniele was wonderful helping getting her in and even finding extra furiture that she could borrow. Everyone was professional and caring from caregivers, administration, kitchen help, and med techs. The residents were delightful and my daughter and I loved attending the events they had with my mom/grandma and meeting all
If you want your loved one cared for, do not bring them here. Not only is the care awful, so is the administration who makes it very obvious that each resident is just a number. My grandma had a fall in her room, and she was not taken to the hospital. We had to take it upon ourselves to take her to the hospital where she ended up having multiple fractures. This was not reported and not the only fall she had there. Even when we upgraded the “points” for more care, they did not provide it. We happ
I came in for a tour of this community and it was so beautiful and homey. They seem like they are all a family from the staff to the residents. Residents seem happy and well cared for.
Avamere at Englewood Heights is a nice place. It's clean. They're nice people. My dad's room is nice. The only complaint I have is that they're a little understaffed, which is a lot of places, so it takes a little bit longer to get the care of the residents quickly. I went there at lunchtime, and they had barbecue and stuff. So far, the food seems great. My dad likes it. My dad doesn't involve himself in too many activities, but they have them every day down to having m
Avamere at Englewood Heights was more of an older facility. It wasn't quite as new, but the layout was really good. It was medium-sized facility. The room was nice and a little bit more comfortable. The staff was really good, too. They had a recreation area where they could play pool, ping pong, or have a conversation. They had a section (it wasn't a huge section) that had a TV area, where people could watch TV, a movie, or play card games. They also had two small buses that they use t
Great staff! All the way from managers to care staff and med techs. Newer renovations and awesome food!
Highly recommend Avamere at Englewood Heights! From the delicious meals, to the amazing staff, you can rest assured this is a place you will want to call home.
My loved one was a resident at this facility for about 6 weeks. The staff was very helpful. My loved one liked the food. The cleanliness and friendliness were good. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
They have been outstanding. The food is good so far. My loved one seems to be happy with the activites. They are very welcoming and they took really good care of my loved one.
It is expensive but we do know that our loved one is getting really good care and is well looked after - it is a really good staff to resident ratio it is like 5 to 1 with 1 rotating staff members. We really like how they involved the memory care folks with the assisted living side for different special events. Our loved one seems to be enjoying the meals and dining service and we would recommend this community to other families based on our experience
Avamere at Englewood Heights is a very nice place and we are very happy with it. It's been a really good transition for my mother.
My experience there is always good people are very wonderful stuff members. My mom and dad have been very happy there for several years
Englewood heights is by far the best Assisted Living Community I have seen here in the Yakima Valley. The staff are genuine and caring. You are always greeted with a smile when you walk in the front door and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The Residents look happy and content and will sure tell you so if given the chance. The staff definitely strive to provide excellent care to all Residents and their families!
This is the prettiest well kept community that I have ever been in. The staff are well trained and so sweet and professional. I would recommend Avamere over any community is Yakima.
This is a great place to go. The staff provides wonderful communication with the family and residents. They even call with any questions they may have. They even were able to make the transition of my loved one an easy one into the community.
My experience here has been a great one. The staff goes above and beyond with love and care for each resident. Englewood Heights has been recently remodeled and the decor is not only beautiful but the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Residents actually participate in activities and seem genuinely happy to be here.
Great
Had a great tour, everyone was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is as nice as any in town and the food was great. we looked at a couple different rooms and were surprised at how big they are. Price is inline with the other places we saw. Loved the gardens. I would recommend Englewood Heights to everyone.
I loved touring this community. So many great residents that smiled when I walked through and friendly staff and very clean. Thanks again!
Lovely facilities, wonderful leadership! Keep up the great work!
The community is very clean and neat and the staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is very nice and They do a good job taking care of our loved ones. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.
Our loved one was only there for about two weeks, but they were always willing and available to answer any and all of our questions. We would recommend this community to others during non covid times.

Keep up the good work!! The rewards are endless!! Our seniors need a safe place to call home outside of their regular family.
I wouldnt refer anybody to bring their family to this facility the food isnt good most of the caregivers dont show care or compassion alot of the main faces of this place try to make it seem like it's a great place but in reality its not. I have been here Alot of residents here are not happy if you ask them they will complain about these problems but nobody ever asks them This place needs shut down Do Not Bring Your Familes here!!
This place sucks
Avamere at Englewood is a loving, grace-filled environment providing safety and loving care for my mother. It is an intimate setting, with gardens and porches like home. Martha with all her wonderful caregivers at Arbor House, are kind and so caring! I truly can’t say enough…my mother was in the Assisted Living for 8 years before she moved to full time dementia care the last two years. I am so grateful…it gives me peace knowing she is safe, and cared for with kindness.
A year ago we moved our parents to Avamere. Whatever challenges they faced from health concerns and moving from the home they loved were helped along by individual members of the staff, care aids and the amazing med tech team. We like the size of the two bedroom apartment. Not cramped at all. Large master bedroom. We observed something very important to our family, how the care aids and med techs speak and treat our parents. All very kind, patient and sincere. I can hear them often when I am
Family Member My mom has lived in this community for two years. These have been some of the best years of her life! She has the freedom to enjoy the company of her little dog, and to be independent in her daily activities, knowing that help is just the push of a button away. My mom is able to participate in a wide range of activities fit to her liking and that of the other residents. She loves the food, but also we appreciate the full size fridge for keeping extra snacks in the room for her. Mo
I recommended Englewood Heights for my grandparents, and wouldn't change it for a second. The staff have always been very tuned into any health changes that occur, and are always quick to act. My grandparents love the food, activities, staff, and other residents. I always know my grandma's health needs are always being taken care of.
I am not happy with Brookdale Englewood Heights. I dont like their housekeeping and med nurses. The checks for April and May were both deposited the same day in my bank, and they sent me a note saying I was late, and I don't like that. The staff needs to be taught that they can't talk in front of people like they're dead. The food is good, and my mom's apartment is fine. I'm paying a little over $10,000 a month and that's crazy. It's worth nothing.
They have horrible customer service! My mom has been here for three months and I’m still waiting for a phone call back from the payroll director for the past two weeks! Every time I go in there not there! Every time I call they are busy! They are a joke! I am pulling my mother out of this facility ASAP!
My husband is in this community and we were not very happy with the care. We talked with staff and they are caring and helpful, but they were not able to assist with one of his needs. The community is very clean and we have been happy with the menu and the variety. They do offer a lot of activities that are offered to the residents. We would recommend that family know the care that is offered.
Brookdale Englewood was number 1. I thought it was wonderful. They were kind, clean, and very nice. They showed me the rooms. They looked like an apartment. You could get a one-bedroom or a studio unit.
They have been taking excellent care of my dad and he's quite happy there. When I visit I always find the staff to be very friendly and the food is pretty good too.
I toured this community for both of my parents. Margo was great in be very helpful. The apartment was very big, My parents did not want a small living room. The tour was nice and the community was clean. Other families would like this if needing a bigger area for both parent.
The experience has been good so far since moving in although there are a few areas to improve. They have activities but not enough. My father-in-law has his own phone line but the front desk has one line and either it is busy or no one answers. However, the community is kept clean at all times and the staff are friendly and it is easy to interact with them.
I would tell others about this place. And my over all rating of it right now would be a 4. And it has friendly services.
Brookdale Englewood Heights was very pleasant and very nice. All of the employees were aware that I was there but did not care to bug me, so I was able to sit with the person who screened people. I sat with people who already lived there and talked about life in general. It was very nice. The room they showed did not have enough closet space, but it had two windows. I had lunch there, and the food was fine.
We met with Danette Nidiffer on Wednesday 1/14. Common areas and rooms were nice. Activity area had a large group participating in the weekly craft.
I'm really happy with it. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. They are doing a really good job, with helping my dad understand the necessity of some of these things. They have lots of activities going on, but I don't really know that much about those. I do get a few complaints about the food, but it's healthy and fresh, the dining facilities are clean, the food services are good. But the main meal is lunchtime, and that is an adjustment, and the food is pretty bland and generic, it's nothing
This was a nice property with very professional staff. We liked this community alot!
* court yard * georgeous * social cards * beautician * different devotions
The staff at Englewood Heights was very gracious with my grandmother's specific needs. Whenever she required assistance, there was staff on duty willing to provide it. Care was given at all times of the day, no matter how late at night. The staff was eager to help, and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. The food at Englewood Heights was delicious. I would go most Sundays for lunch with my Dad and sisters. In addition to the food, there were opportunities for entertainment, with the pi
My grandma was moved here last year at the age of 95. She has been there 8 months and I have visited here there 3 times. The staff seemed to genuinely care for the patients and did what they could to keep them comfortable. They seemed knowledgeable and kind. The facility itself was very nice and my grandma seemed to enjoy it (as much as one can enjoy being such a place). The food didn't smell that great but for obvious reasons I did not try any. While I have not visited any other assis
Very clean facility! Excellent quality of care! Years of experience in the community. The most wonderful nursing home in Yakima. My friend received excellent care and the facility was always clean and the staff was caring. Very diverse, which is great. You can meet many different people.
